Four Nations Week 3

JT & Cronk.. apart from the odd shocker they're just busy, always trying to put something on and usually only take a back seat when someone else is really on and they just control the game from there.

So, Australia have only played Samoa once.

That was in 2000. They won 66-10.

Not related to this years 4 nations tournament but I saw during the week that Scotland have won their spot as the 4th nation at the next 4 nations in 2016.

Really? Coz even though I think bi-annual 4N events is just a massive waste of time, at the very least Samoa have been showing improved competitiveness. Kicking them out of it just seems massively stupid if the goal of international league is to grow. The only goal being achieved with a decision like that is an own goal.

On an Ari agenda note though, it's great material for me to mock the international game.

What happens if Samoa win this weekend and Australia end up on the bottom of the ladder? Should we sit out or something?

I've often said we should sit out 4N tournaments. It's something I've long maintained would be for the betterment of the international game.

Now can you please explain to me how after some reasonable showings, the Samoan team is supposed to build on it's developmental success and become a better team in the future by not playing in the next major tournament?

No I can not.

I've never understood the point of this supposed 'Ari agenda'.

Is it that the International code is a waste of time and should be scrapped indefinitely?

Or simply, it's flawed and needs to be developed better?

Whilst I believe virtually everything I say, the actual agenda point of it is mostly just because it's fun. I feel International League mocks the game, so I have fun mocking it. And others take it so seriously, which just adds to the fun for me.

Is it a waste of time? By and large, yes it is. I don't feel like it has to be, but for as long as I've followed the game I think it has been.

As for it being flawed, that's being kind. Could it be developed better? Of course. Even to the point where I might even find it legitimate. Will it be? Based on the fact that Samoa are not taking part in the next 4N, then not at all. More chance of AP liking WB quite frankly.

Does anyone take it seriously tho? The players appreciate representing their nation, the games draw relatively good crowds and from a fan perspective, it's always nice to have some Rugby League on television but as far as I can tell, everyone knows it's not on par with Union or Football.

I guess somebody has to be the Grinch.

Well certainly not the players, given how they all seem to withdraw from it!

Given how much people seem to rage about Sheens, at least some people here take it seriously enough for me to mock!

That's the clubs who pressure their players into getting post-season surgery.

Players always seem proud to represent their country.

Posters get pissed off over RLW/DT teams - chances are they'll get pissed off with any 1-17 they don't agree with.

Oh well, least we solved that mystery.

I never really thought it was much of a mystery, but there we go!

Were ANZAC tests to start being played on ANZAC day, I'll change my tune a bit, but until then, I eagerly await more Sheenius Success. Nothing says mockery more than Tim Sheens being a winning coach!... Well, maybe if Sticky Stuart were to win it, but history has already proven the pointlessness of International League is no match for the gigantic incompetence of Sticky Stuart!

Are you saying that Thurston, Scott, Gallen, Myles, B-Morris, Hodges etc would much prefer to be in hospital or serve a suspension than represent their country in the sport they love.

Quite odd

Is the England v NZ being televised anywhere . Can't find it on fox.

I think if you experienced the WC off the field, you could have a different view as to whether people take it seriously or not.

Obviously it's never going to be on par with Union and Football, but from what I've seen a lot of people still take it seriously.

Australia are probably the only nation that doesn't take it as seriously because of their dominance, though.

Sure, a minority probably do, but compare the interest to the International competition to the NRL or Origin, it isn't even close. But then, I don't think the majority pretend otherwise, which is basically my point.

I could go on, but it's essentially a joke of a topic at this point and really not worth the time or attention.
