Friday Night Refs

Exactly, Rock. If you slide over with momentum and ball ends up over the line, try. If you fall short, arm hits the ground, held, even if momentum is still going, but reach out and score, no try.

The thing is that he didn't promote the ball, but exagerates the bounce. The arm doesn't move forward at all in relation to his body between the first bounce and the putdown, that's why it's not a double movement IMO.

Rubbish. Clear as day.

Sure mate, whatever you say! :P

If you tackle a bloke wrap the bastard up and don't give him the chance to promote the ball.

If you ignore the arm with the ball you deserve to be scored against.

Agree the double movement rule is crap. Can roll, wriggle, crawl forward everywhere else on the field, but at the line? Pffft. If you can get the ball to the line and the ref hasn't called held, should be fair game.

How come the Broncos got a scrum penalty but the Titans got 50 lessons on how to pack a scrum?

I think overall this season the reffing has been far superior to last year until Friday night.

I too thought the Eels were robbed of 12 points. If they were up 12-0 after 4 mins they probably have a much better game. Refs gave it to the Rabbits. [icon_non

What, by applying the rules correctly?

Forward pass (albeit they miss many other, often more blatant passes than that one).
Double movement.

Both correct rulings.

I didn't think it was forward - it was backwards out of the hands - it's not touch footy where if the ball floats forward it's forward, and I think momentum carried him over the line. Didn't think it was a double movement at all. Not like Zillman who was held out of the ingoal.

I think it has already been established that you need a ophthalmologist visit Coxy, no need to lay it on any thicker... [icon_razz1

It wasn't backwards out of the hands. Stop listening to Fool Gould :P

And no, momentum didn't carry him over the line. He still ended up short of the line. The ball only ended up on the line because he lifted his elbows and moved it forward during the bounce.

I don't listen to Whinger STFU Gould. it was a crankin' pass.

And it's Hayne, MrsLong special one... [icon_lol1.

Yeah, typical woman. She thinks a bloke's hot and so he can get away with breaking the rules.
