Game II Queensland Origin Team

You can't have a guy playing centre at rep level who doesn't pass the ball. It's too easy to defend. This is an elementary skill for a centre. That he doesn't have the sense to pass the ball is just mind boggling.

Dugan.

Disagree on Lilly and Chambers. O'neill was infinitely worse than Chambers
The hate for chambers is ridiculous there was probably one play where he should have given it but held it (milf got outside his man and dumped it to chambers within the 10). Most other times he well within his right to hold it as the overlap wasn't there.

Also chambers is a right fucking center not a left center. See what happens when you just assume a guy can play the opposite side at the exact same level

O'Neill and Myles can't be there. I'd say Thaiday is past it too. Bring in Hess, Wallace and Munster or Holmes.

James roberts qualify for qld he surely would get a run [emoji23][emoji23]

NRL defence is completely irrelevant in Origin, that's what we just learned. Milford was exceptional defensively tonight but is horrible at NRL level, the only poor effort he made tonight was when he was concussed. O'Neill just put on one of the worst individual Origin performances of the decade, any case he had for being there for his defence and reliability just went out the window.

Gagai will probably get bested by Hayne in Game 2 if we play him at centre, but the added attack we'd get from him there and Holmes outside him would completely off-set that, imo.

Horrible at NRL level when he comes up with arm grabs. But when he puts his body on the line like he did tonight, that's what he can do.

His missed tackle stats aren't the best reflection of his tackling technique.

Gagai on the other hand... His defence will be a problem.

"Corey, we appreciate you being the best player on the field tonight, but we've decided to bring in a guy with 1 functioning shoulder and 2 rookies, so you won't be needed for Game 2"

Top idea lad.

As solid at Oates was (very!) - Holmes is the bigger attacking threat. Holmes IS the better player. We need Holmes' abilty to break the line in our team.

The biggest problem with Queensland is lack of centres and prop.

Yeah this.

We've gone from an era of Hodges and GI, to O'Neill and Chambers in the centres.

And we just don't have the bodies that NSW do atm, Fifita fucking slayed us.
To big, to strong, to skilful. Could be anything if he pulls his dipshit head in.

Game 2 - Holmes into wing, gagai to centre (despite being one of our best On The wing) JT in for milf (sad face), and Wallace in for Myles.

I don't feel milf can play the role off the bench our utility has in the past so Morgan keeps his spot - I was very impressed by his 56 minutes tonight though.

Slater will be back for game 2. I am not commenting on whether it's the right decision but the big loss means he comes back in. It's what they'll do.

Morgan missed more tackles than anyone on the Maroons tonight, food for thought in case anyone wants to use the "But he's better than Milford defensively" card, Milf held his own tonight, he's the future 6 for QLD, keep him in the 17.

It really was just a matter of time until our centre depth hurt us. Anyone could see it coming from a mile away.

We've got some very good depth in the halves, in the forwards, fullback, wing, but when it comes to the centres, that's our biggest problem.

Yeah mate I Agree but I left him out as I wouldn't make that choice.

It's fucking rubbish, Boyd will get shunted to the wing due to other players (cough O'Neil cough) ineptitude and then the people that backed Slater initially will get to say I told you so.

I watched him like a hawk and he made five 1 on 1 tackles.

Entering the mind of Kevin Walters, this is the team he'll pick for Game 2, sig it.

1. Slater
2. Oates
3. Boyd
4. Chambers
5. Gagai
6. Thurston
7. Cronk
8. Napa
9. Smith (c)
10. Myles
11. Papalii
12. Gillett
13. McGuire

14. Morgan
15. Thaiday
16. Lillyman
17. Wallace

18. Guerra
19. Milford
20. Holmes

Byebye Myles, Lillyman and O'Neill for starters. They're morals for a trip behind the barn. Chambers is on thin ice as well. I have to be honest I'm really disappointed in the likes of Smith and Cronk tonight. They were supposed to be the old heads to lead the younger guys forward and they both looked like they rather be back home in Melbourne.
I can't remember a game where Smith and Cronk looked so... average. I can't recall Smith getting out of dummy half even once.

We're light on in the forwards as well iyam. Starting backrow are world class, no depth after that and our best prop is behind probably their top 4 props.
