Game II Queensland Origin Team

We need to have the best quality players in the team, that means slater (Boyd did nothing wrong, but slater is in pretty good form and adds another threat. Besides, it's not like Boyd can't come in on attack and ball play some plays), jt, Holmes, Munster (centre?), Hess (amazing talent who needs to be risked at this stage), and Wallace all should be there 100%. Milf and Oates off the bench would be OK imo, certainly no worse than Guerra and Morgan. Sims close as well, maybe in over Wallace if Wallace isn't starting.

Picking blokes in their club positions isn't essential in Origin, as we saw with nsw tonight.

As solid at Oates was (very!) - Holmes is the bigger attacking threat. Holmes IS the better player. We need Holmes' abilty to break the line in our team.
The real issue is that neither Slater or Boyd are a better winger than Oates, Holmes or Gagai... so one of them has to sit out.

Do we really need to wait until Thaiday retires until they stop picking him? He's not as bad as Myles, but he doesn't even offer that much at NRL level anymore.

In my opinion Kevvie will make changes. It was pretty clear that team tonight couldn't go with NSW. If they go with the same team there is a good likelihood they'll get caned again in Sydney and Kev's career would be starting to look shaky.

We don't need Gagai in the centres. Defence should be our priority and I'm sure it will be. Our forwards are by far our biggest problem. Wallace is solid not a match winner or turner, sims is similar but the biggest problem is our lack of experience if we bring those guys in.

Meninga knows our forward problem, you only have to look at ANZAC Test pack he selected then throw in Woods, Jackson and Graham

8. Andrew Fifita
10. David Klemmer
11. Boyd Cordner
13. Trent Merrin
15. Jake Trbojevic
16. Tyson Frizell

Slater will be back for game 2. I am not commenting on whether it's the right decision but the big loss means he comes back in. It's what they'll do.
Queensland got dominated in middle. Maguire is not lock. Tonight Queensland miss big time second face. Miss Corey packer offload. Queensland need to seriously to look at some prop.

I saw the reasoning with picking Myles, but ultimately it failed. He goes and Wallace comes on in his place. Wouldn't be against Sims because we need some fucking aggression but......**** losing more Broncos.

We can afford it.

Broncos have their two byes in the week before Origin.

You do realise that BHQ is about the only place that consistently bags McGuire at lock. He did absolutely nothing wrong tonight and is still getting thrown in with O'Neill in the dropped department.

I don't even remember if Jackson came back on or frizell who was meant to destroy Milford.

Was nothing wrong with the backlines play other than O'Neill. THe rest were very good. It is the forward pack that needs changing. Thaiday, Guerra and Myles should be out for Lowe, Cooper, Hess, Wallace or Sims. Bring Slater back in and strengthen the whole team and we will be sweet

And paulo, Boyd and Vaughan were next up after that

He was reliable without being anything special. Could have done the same thing at 8 or 10.

This. Bring Lowe to stiffen the middle and play McGuire as a prop

He wouldn't have pumped out the same minutes at 8 or 10.

FWIW I would've preferred Guerra come on to relieve him and then McGuire come back as a prop in his second stint to finish the game.

I thought it was very strange use of Guerra, why leave him on the bench when we were getting torn apart through the middle

I don't overly rate McGuire normally but couldn't fault him tonight.

We were just outsized comprehensively. I was impressed with our initial physicality but we couldn't keep it up.

Chambers is much better at right centre than he is left. Ditch O'Neill, move Chambers to right, Gagai to left centre and then bring in Holmes on the right wing.

Ditch Guerra and Myles and Morgan and bring in JT, Wallace and then either Lowe/Sims/Bolton to the bench. Same team for game 3 - but swap Hess for Lillyman if we lose game 2.

We have to keep Oates in the team for his kick return metres alone.

Holmes, Slater and Wallace should come in for you guys. Wonder if Holmes plays centre though as I thought Gagai was good despite his dropsie, made some strong runs and was hard to tackle.
