CRICKET General Cricket Discussion - 2023/24

The Indian Government has told them it will never be safe for them there.

it's a brave team that your government says don't go and you go anyway.

If something happened you'd be in a world of trouble.
was only 12 months ago the Pakistan team was playing in India though what has happened between now and then to raise hostilities?

Did not even realise a T20 was on tonight... flick it on with Maxwell going for a slog to cow and getting caught.

10 overs left and a great platform already set... he just needed to keep himself out there and set up the score... but nah need to think of the highlight shots... he's 36 years old and still just going for YOLO shots

Fucking Aus batters and having zero fucking brains

0-52 off 3.4 overs before the first wicket... finished the innings 9-147

Rest of the game went 9-95 off 16.2 overs... run rate under 6 for the rest of the innings... Aus batting is painful

That 0-52 probably was the difference in the game.

Pakistan on the other hand didn't hit a boundary until after the 10th over or something. I actually thought Inglis took them a bit lightly in trying to get his part timers a couple, that changed the game for Pakistan but fortunately for us they couldn't keep their composure.

Joel Curtis scores an unbeaten century. A 25 year old keeper for WA and given Inglis is now with the test squad, he might get a few more chances to show what he's got. Very very small sample size but nice to have another batsman and especially a keeper-bat averaging over 40 in FC.

Between Aus and SL, the upcoming test series might last to tea time on the first day each test.

Meanwhile Harry Brook is going full early career Marnus and on his way to a century after being dropped three times. All sitters.

Then Phillips who has dropped a heap of them takes an absolute screamer to get Pope, man what a catch.

Absolute farcical situation that we lose that final

**** the people running the WBBL

Also fire the Harrises into the fucking sun

What happened?

A bit of rain for about half an hour, so we lost 8 overs from our innings, despite the fact there was an extra few hours available to extend play.
(And an entire day to replay of there was no result)

That meant we somehow ended up having chase down 98 from our position of 2-19 in about 8 and a half more overs, despite the Renegades only posting 9-141 from a full 20. We suddenly had to score at 10+an over when Renegades only managed 7.05. We still ended up with a better run rate at 7.50, so we are definitely chasing down a fair total.

It also meant we lost an over of restricted fielders.

We were robbed of a great final and chance to win by a stupid method that doesn’t make any sense for short-form that short.

We were far from perfect, but to have the result be put further out than it should’ve been and not taking the extra 30 minutes of play from the hours available just stinks of it being a fixed result

2 grand final losses in 2 days coupled with the AFLW this weekend. 6 in 2 years across all my teams

I don’t know how many more grand final losses I can take

Davies batting now. Konstas was out for 88.

Patterson making another score, his return to the Shield team has been impressive this year. He is still young enough to have a couple of years in the test side.
