Will be nuts if he doesn't play, has to be there instead or Marsh of Stoinis. He's a better batsmen, bowler and fielder than both.
It is even more simple than that but will never happen. He should replace Finch.

Maxwell isn’t getting dropped. I think his only avenue is Finch selflessly retiring before hand. It won’t happen but it is. You have to remember that Marsh will probably bat 3 again in the World Cup and Warner is coming back. Maxi will hopefully find some of that form again. I think his issue has been he has been forced to bat quite a bit differently and he just hasn’t had time to click since he is a bit out of touch.Green would look great in that world cup squad in place of Maxwell..
Yeah I was being a bit smarmy given Maxwell’s recent form and his general inconsistency.. but I do concede we probably need him in a T20 World Cup - that big innings he makes every six months or so might just come in a finalMaxwell isn’t getting dropped. Don’t agree about Marnus sorry. I think we need to get him as far away from the white ball set up as possible. Great test and first class batsman slightly above average one day batsman and literally an average t20 batsman. Someone else needs to take on that 4 role. Wouldn’t mind it being Green either, obviously he was effective opening but he really could have been destructive anywhere. T20 is probably the one area we have a bunch of performing openers. Maybe someone like Inglis should open and drop Green down into the top order and replace Marnus. But it’s your team, I tend to agree on the bowlers but it will probably take a little bit longer for us to move away from Starc than it will for some of these batters.I think it’s going to be interesting seeing the side post-WC. I suspect Warner, Finch definitely, possibly Starc, Smith and Wade might call it a day. Maxwell and Stoinis possibly too.
Some of those are probably unlikely but a generational change is not far off.
Post-WC T20, I’d be looking at:
1. Green
2. Philippe
3. Marsh
4. Labushagne
5. Inglis (wk)
6. David
7. Sams
8. Cummins
9. Ellis
10. Hazlewood
11. Zampa
For the WC I'd pick Green over a bowler. He showed last night that he's effective with the ball and could be a Chris Morris type player down the order, he could also float up the order depending on the situation.
Squad was picked back on Sept 1 apparently .
And , Cam Green isn`t in it .
He can come in if there’s an ‘injury’ though.
AB says unlikely ?
He’s got stress fractures in his back so he definitely isn’t playing in the t20 World Cup. Depending on the severity he could be out for a long time. One of the worst injuries a bowler could have. Some people do play through them but it’s not recommended, especially when you need him to be fit for 12 months time in the one day World Cup.Sounds like Bumrah is gonna be ruled out of the T20 World Cup with a back issue.
It’s never sad when NSW are embarrassed, no matter what the sport.QLD vs Tas: Yesterday
McDermott 70 @ 84.34 SR
Jewel 43 @ 116.22 SR
Meredith 5 Wickets @ 2.6 economy
Rogers 3 Wickets @ 3.92 economy
Tassie boys are doing well so far off the back of these 4 and some great fielding. Batting stocks aren’t great but these two when opening have been the form duo of the comp so far. Rogers and Meredith have been amazing to start the season
WA vs NSW: Today
6-21 NSW. Really sad to see to be honest. WA have great batters and NSW have great bowlers so when you miss that spectacle from an atrocious first innings bat from NSW a really good game becomes over in an hour and a half. Luckily for NSW their tail can hold a bat well. Will be interesting to see what Abbot and Sams can pull out with all the time in the world.
so far in the opening spell Richardson has 3 in his first domestic game for the season and Behrendorff has 3.
