Completely off topic and way out of left field, but I have an idea relating to corner posts. As far as I'm aware it would be within the rules, and could save a LOT of tries.lockyer47 said:

Corner posts are stupid though. They should remain, but only used to assist in judging if a ball goes dead in goal or in touch in the field of play. It shouldn't matter if you make contact with it while trying to score a try.

Exacto mondo and thouuuuuuuuuusands of people agree. The fact they don't change this rule tomorrow shows how illogical the whole system is.
Anyone who says anything about logistics is deadset kidding themselves. If an organisation can't get around such logistics as these I would hate to see how they tackle more important issues... oh wait - we have. hehe.

isn't the argument that he's going to AFL meaningless, since he's off to play Union in Japan first before going to the AFL and the fund was setup to prevent players going to union? ie the fine print of the agreement says you lose all rights to funds if you go play union.
but still it might be interesting to see how the courts would view it, just being in the agreement doesn't mean it'll hold up in court. Australia has pretty strict rules and protections for peoples money.

I haven't seen the fine print but I believe it says you lose the money if you go to a 'rival code' - not union specifically. If it specified Union, then there would be no contest, he'd have to get the money. Riolo's arguement is that AFL is not a rival code - I don't understand his thinking on that because it is clearly another football code against which RL competes.
