Greatest rugby league player you've seen

Mine is Brad Fittler. He could defend like a forward bringing down opponents of any size, he could play forwards and backs, he captained Australia at the age of 20! and made his NSW debut at 18!. He had a wicked side step, could score long range solo tries, great leadership and wonderful hands and ball control coupled with an accurate kicking game. FREDDIE YOU ARE MY HERO.

I'm from New South Wales before any of you bag me for saying Fittler ahead of Lockyer who is also another hero of mine. Also this is my opinion if you respect it i'll respect yours. (Before i moved to Queensland in 2004 my team was the Roosters but i have changed since and the Mighty Broncos are my team now with the Mighty Roosters 2nd)

Yeah you have a fair point, I was just annoyed that i said that this was my opinion and everyone has different opinions on these topics I was only annoyed about people not accepting that

I don't think there is really anyone better than Lockyer in the past 10 years. When we came up to Brisbane last year to watch the Souths match. You really see how involved he is in general play and how easy he makes it look, something you don't see on TV.

Fittler was better looking that's for sure. But he wasn't a better player than Lockyer. Credit for not nominating Andrew Johns though, the obvious NSW choice.

If Thursto continues to improve I think he could end up better than Lockyer. He needs to win his clubs a couple of premierships though.

I wonder how well BroncoMan's opinion would have been received on another forum.

I'd take Lockyer over Freddy is right up there in terms of talent and in the end he had a wonderful career. Those last three seasons really cemented him as a great for mine, it's not everyday a player in his twilight leads his side to three successive grand finals.
