Have you put a red line through Manly?

Despite the little grammar mistake, I still found it funny.

Long may their misery last. If any club deserves an extended period of mediocrity, it's them.

Can't believe they're cutting that many players of the rumours are true though. Unless they've got deals already worked out for new blood, their roster will be paper thin.

Toovey was expected to be sacked yesterday but they failed to reach a payout settlement.

It's expected to happen today.

Never mind. Already posted.

So Manly next year:

1. Stewart
2. Taufua
3. Lyon
4. Matai
5. Hiku
6. Korisau
7. DCE
8. Lawrence
9. Parcell
10. Lawrence
11. Symonds
12. Fuhrer
13. ??

Bench:
NA - Cannot afford

1. Brett Stewart
2. Jorge Taufua
3. Jamie Lyon
4. Steve Matai
5. Peta Hiku
6. Apisai Koroisau
7. Daly Cherry-Evans
8. Brenton Lawrence
9. Matt Ballin
10. Nate Myles
11. Lewis Brown
12. Feleti Mateo
13. Jamie Buhrer

14. Jayden Hodges
15. Darcy Lussick
16. Tom Symonds
17. Jake Trbojevic

Tom Trbojevic
Clinton Gutherson
Jesse Sene-Lefao
Brayden Williame
Blake Leary
Luke Burgess

23 Players signed till 2016 according to Zero Tackle. Burgess is off to Japanese Rugby so I doubt they're paying much of anything for the release so 3 spare spots and second tier commitments.

The back line is one year older and the pack is still ordinary. As it stands, I can't see much improvement in them.

3-9

The bye next week will inflate their position before they face off against...

Wests Tigers (H)
South Sydney (A)
Cronulla (H)
Gold Coast (A)
North Queensland (H)
Warriors (A)
Brisbane (H)
South Sydney (H)
Canberra (A)
Parramatta (H)
Sydney (H)
Cronulla (A)

They have to go at least 8-4 to stand any chance. It's certainly achievable but it looks unlikely based on their performances.

5-2 so far.

If tonight is any indication, they'll make it.

Have to admire the fight in Manly as much as I hate them.

Did you see the game on Friday, Dex?

I loved their attitude. They had a chance to lock the scores up early with a penalty right infront. Instead of playing along, they take the tap and catch Souths out.

As poor as Souths were, clearly teams can't afford to sleepwalk through Manly anymore.

Yep I caught most of it Pete, I love an against the odds story even though it's Manly. I'd love to know the thoughts of the Manly board ATM, if they are cheering them on even if they end up with egg on their faces or privately hoping they fall over.

I've drawn the line and I'm not removing it goddammit!!!!!

Yeah I agree Sack, the draw in the next 3 weeks should see Manly finish 9th unless the Dragons completely shit the bed.

FMD it's a position no Rugby League fan should be put in, having to choose between Saints or Manly winning.

The only sucky thing about Manly not making the 8 was that I put a small amount of money on them when they were $7 to do so. I also have the Panthers to miss the 8 at $2.90. Not so clever was the Cowboys to miss the 8...
