Hayne - Get over yourself

Yep, there's being honest, then there's being honest with the media.

Exactly. And he could also have said "I have let my team down with my actions, because now I won't be there to help get us out of this form slump."

Or he could have said "I'm a cockstain that only my own bogan supporters like. My mother doesn't even love me"

You have Hayne Stayned glasses on, mrslong.

The correct answer to that question is "I'd love to be there to help the boys win, but I'm sure they'll do the job without me".
I think he's a dead set spanner tbh.

BUT - I'd like him to lose his dum-dum ways and just be good at footy - when he plays good he's great to watch - like matty bowen, JT, Locky, Benji and co. It's a shame he's such a tool bag though. [icon_non

But that's just it, it's his attitude and arrogance that means he can't be listed amongst that company.

meh, footy is footy. sticky, joey, freddy were all arrogant as and they were great to watch too.

I didn't realise being holier than thou was a requirement to play good entertaining footy.

 Those three guys might've been arrogant but they were also team players.

Hayne has not shown anything to suggest he's anything other than an exciting individual.

yep, I agree he's not a team player - and is so lazy omg he needs to take a leaf out of Slaters book for shiz! It's something the coaches need to bash out of him - stop bending over and letting him dictate terms ffs. That's a glaring indication of the bad culture of Parramatta more than anything else though. The inmates have run that assylum for years.

Still doesn't mean he doesn't play exciting footy on his day. Remember the game v the doggies last year, it was a class display.

Yeah, but you're not getting my point. Fark, I mean Chris Walker played some exciting footy in his day. I still wouldn't list him alongside Lockyer, Bowen, Thurston et al.

Lol, I nearly mentioned Chris Walker in my post...wonder why we compare him to Hayne eusa_think

I don't list him as a player along side of Lockyer, but he's more than capable of producing exciting match winning plays on a regular basis and can be as exciting to watch. Which is my point.

IMO no-one comes close to Lockyer as he is in a class of his own. No-one. Not Alf, not Wally, not no-one. There is Lockyer and then there is everyone else, that's the whole package deal though, not just his onfield stuff.

Parramatta superstar Jarryd Hayne fears suspension could ruin his Test aspirations,

Huh and here I thought it was his lack of form that would ruin his Test aspirations

Yeah - we all know what happened to that last coach that tried to sort Hayne out. Oh hai Daniel Anderson.

Hayne believes his own hype & loses the plot when things aren't going his own way.

IMO: He is way overrated.

Yes he plays exciting footy, but not on a regular basis.

When I watch players like Slater & Locky, I am thinking what these 'freaks' going to do today.

With Hayne, I am thinking what is he going to do to stuff up.

If I was an Eels supporter what would bug me the most about Hayne is his SLOW play the balls. He's a shocker. He just about always resentfully picks himself up as slow as he can. You'd swear it's the final minute of the match and his teams in front by 2.

You wouldn't be lining up to take the next hit up after he's had a carry.

What's caused the hype? A few players have created a gap, and passed it to Hayne.

That's not a good player. That's a player piggybacking off some other better player.

You obviously didn't watch him in the back half of 2009 if this is what you think caused the hype. He was tearing sides apart week after week by both beating players repeatedly and by putting teammates away. The guy is a massive arrogant turd and has only shown small glimpses of this form since 2009 but the hype was pretty justified on that back half of 2009.

He was pretty awesome for an 18 year old winger for Parra too. Scored something like 18 tries from 17 games.

But yes, Hayne in 2009 was tearing teams apart at his own volition.

Only fools would put Hayne in that echelon category anyway. He's a gun individual player - that's about it. Slater is yoooooooooooooooooonks ahead of him. Yonks.

Honestly Hayne has to learn the game more - he said it himself... he just plays adlib footy... sure if you do that you'll be able to relive the 09 moments here and there but if you're not going to sit down and learn the game then he will be forever up and down without any form of foundation/consistency to his play.
