Doesn anyone know the record for most head gears worn in an NRL game?? Can anyone find out?? I think we had the record last night in the Titans vs Canberra game. It looked like an under 7's game the amount of Head gear I saw.

Nothing wrong with head gear mate.

There's nothing right about it either.

Personally, I can't wear it when I play, its like a mental thing.
I'm the total opposite, but I couldn't handle wearing helmets when I played Gridiron.

Hasn't head gear come a long way. Back in the day it was just the plain black Pearl and Beaver style but now it's colour co-ordinated with logos and alike.

That's the funny thing... I am dead keen to play grid iron and think I would be 10 foot tall and bulletproof with all the gear on.

Yea but the pay off is it hurts about 10 times more when getting hit. A lot easier to tackle using your shoulders though.

What exactly does the headgear do? I've worn it before, it doesn't really make the head hits any easier lol.
I know it's a stupid question lol, but answer it without giving me too much flak :P

I don't think the manufacturers claim it stops any head knock from hurting or causing concussion. I think it's purely to reduce the likelihood of a serious head injury or concussion from a direct head knock.

that and stopping you from splitting your head open or getting nasty gash.
