Warriors winger Kevin Locke will be interviewed by New Zealand police over an allegation of sexual assault which he strongly denies, the NRL club said on Friday.

The Warriors said in a statement that Locke's lawyer John Haigh QC told the club his client wanted his name published in relation to the matter to avoid speculation.

Haigh said Locke also wanted to make it clear he had done nothing wrong and that no charges had been laid and he is co-operating fully with police.

And because he's another big dumb dopey footballer he's automatically guilty I suppose.

Don't think anyone's casting judgment at this point, Scotty. But yet again it's a controversy the game can do without.

And I bet it'll be circumstances that could've been avoided by just not getting drunk.

The fact that he demanded to be named in the press is, IMO, a good sign. He's not hiding from it, hopefully because he has nothing to hide.
