Hodges charged with grade 1 grapple

I think he's probably just frustrated, since he's missed out on so many games in the last couple of years. Once he gets a few under his belt he'll probably relax a little bit more.

Lol bit of a vicious cycle then isn't it? He's frustrated because he hasn't played many games, so he does something stupid which causes him to miss even more...

Perhaps he needs to figure out another, more productive way to release his frustrations.

I don't think the Broncos intended to play him this week anyway - copping a suspension means they don't have to deal with people questioning his non-selection.

I was surprised that he actually took the ban given there was a report out earlier today saying that the "Broncos back bad boy Hodges".

I can't find it anywhere online but it said "we understand that the argument the Broncos plan to use is that he was simply playing up to the crowd by mocking Cameron Smith's grapple tackle on Sam Thaiday last year."

WTF? Since when did Hodges become a professional wrestler? Hamming it up to the crowd with fake wrestling moves. Pile-driving Piggy Ridell into the turf. You know, he's not far off knocking the referee out with a metal chair...

This is the article: http://www.leaguehq.com.au/news/news/br ... 48567.html

I thought it was ridiculous too, and decided to put it down to journalists having a laugh.

Hodges really needs to pull his head in. He's returning to the kind of behaviour we saw from him at the roosters.

I actually thought Hodges controlled himself fairly well in his comeback game (excusing this one indescretion) as many a time when he usually would have blown up he walked away and bit his tongue.

Agree there Russo. That penalty for taking Inglis into touch, last year he would've done the fist up or whatever like he did to Archer :P

But no denying this was utter stupidity.
