Just won a little bit on Light Fantastic jeez this horse is going to be a star, also had money on Weekend Hussler (didn't get much of anything back) looked classy again. Also was on Princess Coup in the Oz Cup ran well from well back for second great run from Sirmione, at least I got some of the bet back anyway.

Miss Finland retires, and doesn't retire as a champion :D Sirmione would be the best 2000m horse in the country at the moment, by a minute. That sprint was just awesome. Oliver slaughtered Princess Coup.

You're right mate Light Fantastic looks like he could be very good, and we all know Weekend Hussler is a superstar.

Good to see Racing To Win return to the winner's circle today.

I would love to see Light Fantastic racing Hussler at the Cox Plate later in the year with them both running like this.

Couldn't agree more. Absolutely butchered her. Don't know what he was thinking.

Doesn't matter though. I had the best day on the punt today I've had in donkeys.

Have you been having a go at fractional betting at all mate?

Bits and pieces mate - never really been an overly big tri or first4 player

Glad to prove Dave wrong about Light Fantastic being a superstar.........just wish I had the evidence from the old forum

Great day backing all 3 Melbourne feature winners, shame not a lot of great value in them but a collect is a collect. ;)

I wouldn't say he is a superstar just yet. He is a very good horse and possible superstar in the making but he is untested against the big boys at the moment. Put it this way - if they decided to keep racing Weekend Hussler against his own age, we wouldn't even be talking about Light Fantastic at the moment. He is a long way off being the best 3yo in the country.

Light Fantastic isn't a superstar....yet. You can certainly see that coming though. Shown class in all the wins so far and I can't wait for spring to see it battle some heavyweights in big races.

After having a sizeable amount of my hard earned on him this afternoon, I will admit to thinking he was a superstar as he crossed the line. But now I've calmed down somewhat I do agree with the likes of Jeb in that he has a long way to go yet. But the talent is there without doubt.

Interestingly, a mate of mine who was at Caulfield when Light Fantastic won the Perri Cutten Cup the other week said he was potentially the best horse he'd seen since Kingston Town such was the ease of the win.

Who knows exactly how far Light Fantastic will go? No one. It seems destiny that he will take out plenty of big races throughout his career, but one of the best parts about horse racing is the fact that absolutely anything at all could happen.

Who would've indeed guessed this time 12 months ago that Miss Finland would be retiring after running half a dozen shocking races? Can't wait to see both Weekend Hussler and Light Fantastic in plenty of good runs over the next few years though!

Sirmione's run yesterday was absolutely blistering & amazing to watch. I was also very happy to see a fave of mine, Orange County, get the chocolates too.

Biggest downer of the day for me was race three in Melbourne - had no money on it but really tipped the topweight Carnero to snare a third straight win (it's becoming a favourite of mine). Alas, came second by a bee's you-know-what in a stellar finish. Definitely one for y'all to keep your eyes on in coming runs (though it's doubtful you'll be getting 8's for it in its next run like you were yesterday!)

Great to see Weekend Hussler win the best sprint race in the country. He is a superstar.

Light Fantastic still has a bit to prove methinks, he is a good horse no doubt but its arguable that Marching could/should have won it. I feel the guineas field was of an extremely high class and many of the horses in the field will be fighting out mayn black type races in future. In saying that it is remarkable that LF has come from a Kyneton maiden to a G1 in the space of a month. Kudos to the Kent stable for that. Though IMO WH would have lengths on LF at any distance.

Sad to see the might mare Miss Finland go out in such a way, she deserved much better. A champion 2 and 3yr old racehorse, one of the best the country has ever seen, of all time, full stop.  etc.

Any early tips for the slipper fellas?

I will give you the evidence again mate if you want - Light Fantastic is a good horse but he is no superstar yet. He is not even the best 3yo in Australia so how can he be a champion? Yes he won a group 1 33 days after his first race start but there were a couple of horses behind him who I think can overtake him in the coming seasons and were unlucky not to beat him yesterday - Marching in particular. Light Fantastic is no Weekend Hussler though - he could not have done what the Hussler did yesterday.

Magnificent day of racing yesterday and there promises to be plenty more to come over the next few weeks. Sirmione won like a champion but Oliver did everything wrong on Princess Coup - I am sure the Kiwi's will be looking forward to a rematch.

Sydney racing just starting to hot up and should get even hotter over the next few weeks. Not sure about a Slipper tip Denny - I hope we have not seen the slipper winner yet as I have got my eye on a couple of unraced ones. Also stoked to see Just Mambo turn in a super run yesterday at 100/1 as we have backed him at almost that price for the Doncaster!!!!

In other news has anyone seen the 3/4 sister to Might and Power by Zabeel?

Freak!

I saw that - it will be interesting to see what that horse sells for. It is beautifully bred but would the colour put some people off? I bet it develops a cult following one it starts racing - I can see it now "Might and Powder"
