How much better do we look now with a REAL dummyhalf

Anyone got a link to a video of the Hunt on Taumolololololololol tackle? I missed it live!

Put him on a merry go round. Towel my low low went down so easily. Quite amazing.

Did you not see the 2015 GF?

I saw him make some dumb mistakes that almost cost his team the game, like grubbering the ball straight to a Broncos player on the 5th tackle with 3 minutes to go.

He has been so good, his kicks, decision making etc has been so bang on. True shining light.

Doubt Hunt would settle for being a hooker anyway. Still likely has delusions of halfbackhood. If stayed on track would be next QLD and Aus hooker. But for 1.2 million a year I could sacrifice that dream. Anyone got an offer ready for me?

Watching a replay, Hunt is killing it at 9.

He added a bit of unpredictability with his attack, catching out the Penrith defence several times only for a last ditched attempt from the defence or an error from the Broncos players stopping more tries from being piled on.

He is really becoming quite a threat there.

Indeed SF....he certainly is. :superhappythumbsup:

That said, I don't necessarily feel like our joy rides purely on Ben Hunt. It exists because of the fact that we've put up with such attacking ineffectiveness and mediocrity from McCullough, for far too long and now we're seeing just what benefits we can receive from a dummy half whos' "prowess" doesn't just evolve around him making 50 tackles a game.

The way Hunt is going, he is rightfully back up hooker for the Aussies at the WC, pretty stunning stuff really just how good he is at 9.

The reality is macca is probably the next captain for the broncos.

They are morons, plain and simply.
If it had have been a Sharks player or a Dragons played knocked their attitude's would have been very different.
Both put the slipper into the Broncs at every opportunity.
Gritty win but gee we miss Mccollough tying the middle up in defence. If we could tighten the middle up I reckon we could beat Melb but I just can't see our front row getting it done.
McCullough is missed so much, as good as Ben Hunt is in attack, we are more complete with McCullough at hooker.

gillett is only 1 year younger then Boyd so when Boyd retires Gillett would have either retried already or is just about to as well.

McGuire or Milford will be our next long term captains. Milford grows with responsibility and if he's at his best so are the broncos. McGuire is a Tallis-like (without the post career wankerness I hope) inspiration/aggressive captain BUT we must remember we didn't win a premiership with Tallis as captain. Often a calm leader is beneficial in the pressure

I wonder if the Dragons are feeling the same, because that's basically McInness. Would Hunt swallow his pride and be open to being a full time hooker? Spine of Dufty, Hutchison, Widdop + Hunt is/could become pretty quality

With that forward pack as well, if only they could find some decent centres, they have the makings of a top four side with that spine.

Not missed even slightly. His value to the team is evident with him out, he's pretty worthless. A good defender, a good clubman, a good bloke, but an average footballer. That's not to say average is bad, there's a lot of below average players in the NRL, but that's all he is, nothing special, never will be.

How many times can I like this.

McCullough better pray that Granville doesn't want to come home.

As I have been saying for YEARS the hooker touches the ball more than any other player. It's not a defensive position. It's an attacking position. Macca stifles the team's attack. He doesn't improve it.

Brisbane need to look elsewhere.

As for the all the "Macca will be captain" crowd...lay off the sauce.

Nahh....
If A.McCullough is still around and hasn't improved after Boyd's done playing, I'll lose my shit.

He isn't going to improve now. He is what he is at this point. A bloke who can defend well and not make a lot of errors but he'll give you slow service out of dummy half and a terrible grubber when in an attacking zone every match.
