Hunts Kicking game.

You think he's ready for Origin this early in his career?

Well he played that role for Australia and only didn't look out of place, but played very well.

I have no doubts he would handle origin

See, I'm not so sure. Origin is a whole new kettle of fish.

He's shown this year he is capable of fixing errors in his game, but he's not finished.

I'm not sure I want someone so raw thrown into origin against players who are considered some of the best in the world. There is too much risk that he will smash his confidence when he gets found out.

Talk to me next year and this will probably change, but I don't think he's been playing long enough to be there.

I don't really count his time under Griffin has genuine experience, he was out of position and pretty ordinary.

Morgan was no more ready than Hunt.

I agree. I didn't like the selection at first. I wasn't as vocal mainly because he doesn't play for my team, so any risk of confidence issues arising from it would only serve to help.

cough cough......it's NSW.

Best in the world....smashing his confidence?

 ....I don't think so.

It's not like he would play massive minutes in Origin (unless there was an injury), but he doesn't look like a player who lets the moment overawe him, so I wouldn't have a problem at all having him in the team.

In all honesty, Morgan did quite well in his stint, much better than I thought he would, so the competition for the "utility" spot is really a 3 way race between Morgan, Hunt and DCE. I can see Milford interfering with it soon enough, if he keeps this up.

From memory Hunt went alright in the game for Australia he played......

Hunt is the only one I can see actually making an impact off the bench. We went from having Chris Walker and Matty Bowen to DCE. NSW don't fear DCE. But Hunt would make them nervous.

Bennett recently highlighted Hunt's drastically improved kicking game after the 25-year-old had the ball on a string during Brisbane's recent spanking of the Sea Eagles. Hunt has more kicks in play this season than other player in the competition with 182, 37 more than Johnathan Thurston. However, should Hunt succumb to injury at any stage of the season the Broncos will find themselves short of fifth-tackle options and forced to call upon part-time kickers Milford and Andrew McCullough to share the load.
'Milf' and 'Macca' only have 55 kicks in play between them this year, meaning Hunt kicks the Steeden more than three quarters of the time for the Broncos.

Losing Hunt to injury (touch wood) would definitely hurt us, but it would be far from disastrous. Perfect time for either Nikorima or Taylor to step up at first grade level.
