Hunts Kicking game.

Different player. Absolutely nailed it tonight.

He couldn't kick the skin off a rice pudding last season. He's gone from that, to one of the biggest boots in the comp this year.

Credit to Bennett and the staff for that, and credit to Hunt for obviously practicing a shit load.

elite kicking game tonight, milfs kicks had quality in them also.

Hunt was excellent. He had variation in his kicks. Hopefully he will keep developing.

Bit pre-mature. Hunt's had one good kicking game this season.

I'm talking about hunt as an all round player compared to cherry Evans, but this is the only place I can put that because I'm not allowed in the DCE thread.

IMHO hunt has been outplaying cherry Evans for some time.

Hunt's kicking game was awesome tonight, clearing kicks, finding the ground, good choice of bombs.

Bennett said in the press conference last week something along the lines of we need a better kicking game to put pressure on (don't quote me, it's probably a fair way off), so Bennett clearly saw it as a problem and to Hunt's credit he's taken the feedback on board and just improved so much.

If he can kick like that every game, it'll be incredibly awesome for the team.

Kick positioning has always been Brett Stewarts greatest weakness. Manly looked completely lost in their positioning last night but Hunt's long kicking game is improving and Kahu gives him a real option as someone to kick short in the air too. Someone at the game last night was he putting in a lot of torpedoes when kicking from inside our own half - he seems to have found 10-15 extra meters in the last few weeks.

I think Hunt's positioning for the kicks is what's helping. Not sure how to best describe this, but when kicking he has an angle he wants to work for and stands accordingly. But because he's always pressured that angle gets compromised and the kick goes straight to a receiver or just goes badly off the boot. Being right beside the goal posts it was a really great view on positioning - it now appears like he stands expecting the pressure, so the angle he telegraphs to the opposition is not his true intention. When the kick pressure comes to him, he responds accordingly and shifts his body to the real angle he intends.

In the same way he kicked from behind the 40 metre line looking to go for a 40/20, so the wingers were very wide. Last moment he again adjusts to the pressuring defenders and boots it between one of the yawning gaps between a winger & Stewart.

I would agree with that. DCE has had a better kicking game imo but Hunt has been the better player in all other areas both last season and this one. I still think Hunt should have been our bench utility in origin.

You think he's ready for Origin this early in his career?
