Hunts Kicking game.

Hunt & kicking game in the same sentence, shouldn't be used.

We were still working out our half most of the time. Hunt has to kick for metres rather than hoping we'll regather the ball. He bollocksed the shorter range kicking though.
Can you learn kicking? Its hard yo imagine Hunt getting to where he needs to be regarding kicking.

Exactly.

This is where Macca needs to help out, like he did with our first kick last night ..... out of dummy half.

Hunts kicking game is more than adequate and will only get better, we just need to get him into a better field position first.

His kicks rarely put anyone under pressure and he rarely creates tries with his kicks. Every other aspect of his game is that of an elite half back. His kicking isn't even close.

That's odd, because some of his kicks into space last night looks to be pin point accurate, so maybe we were watching a different game. Yes, he had some shit ones too.

The kick chase from our team was fucking woeful. They weren't there.

90% of hunts kicking last night was great, problem is like most topics/issues people seem to get subconsciously committee to a POV, so like in this example hunt can do a heap of good kicks that get glossed over, but then ***** one up and it is ranted about for he rest of the week

I thought Hunt's kicking game last night, for what it was, was very good as you rightly say. Thing is, it is very limited. Compared to the top tier halves, he doesn't rate - just look at JT's kicking game last night, or Pearce's (ewww).

Little variety, little creativity. He needs to work on that for mine, as much as the whole side needs to work on kick-chase.

He has very little variety in his kicking. It's generally a bomb from him. I do agree totally the kick chase wasn't the best but I don't think teams worry about hunts kicking at all.

This is what I want to see a lot of from Hunt (and Milford)

It would be good, but unfortunately we don't have the wingers for that.

If you ever feel bad about our kicking, just look at this video and take comfort in knowing it's never been this bad...

Did you see the video of him and his teammate in the sheds afterwards ?
Typical O'connor.

I thought his surname was Spilner?

I think the last few games Hunt's conisistency with his kicking game has come a long way. coincidentally it coincides with Macca and I suspect Milford taking more kicks.

I wouldn't say so, Lockyer's kicked was perfectly weighted and placed, Hunt's was a hit and hope.

And this is why halves struggle to find their place at Brisbane, they will forever be compared to guys like Locky and Langer. I'll take the halftime try on saturday over the one in the video anyday.

The parra one was a single bloke amazing us, saturday night was an effort from 3 of our key spine members, a forward who has been quiet in attack and a winger who "can't finish".

It was a sweet effort age result, no doubt.

Not that I buy into all the press, but there's been a few who've coined it an early contender for try of the year. Never thought I'd hear Maranta mentioned in such a context.

It's not just about Langer and Lockyer. Watching Marshall and Widdop, particularly Marshall kick the other night is what I am talking about. It's just a question of recognizing what a varied, consistent kicking game can add to a team's attacking arsenal.

Of course THAT try was brilliant and amazing. However it doesn't change the fact that a good kicking game adds to the arsenal.
