Hunts Kicking game.

Macca needs to kick more from dummy half ... simple !

Especially if our forwards haven't provided good field position.

Hunt can put in some good little kicks when we're in an attacking position, but if we're more than 40 out, it's sod ordinary !

but we were set for a field goal and he backed out and went for the try because he was shaken by his lack of ability.

If he goes for the field goal, we head to extra time and it becomes a shoot out which we wouldn't have won... He elected to finish the game in regular time and trusted his instinct to put the right player over.. We won, it seems you're upset that he went for the try instead of the field goal wish i strange.

He didn't back out, anyone outside Oates would have scored as well if he passed them the ball. Penrith were shot

In the press conference WB didn't seem to express a lot of confidence in Hunt's field goal kicking prowess.

Someone actually asked WB if there was someone in our team who could kick field goals and he said he wasn't worried about that, then decided to offer up Boyd's name. FTR, he's never kicked a field goal.

Walters said on dead set legends that they are all shit at kicking field goals. He reckons the safest place when they are practicing them at Thursday morning training is directly behind the goal posts

Both macca and Milford have kicked one and hunt has to bloody well learn it's one thing holding him back

I took that as a joke. And if you watch it again, you see a small smirk. I dunno.

He made it clear he's not after one pointers, but I hope behind the scenes he is getting someone up to scratch with kicking them.

I was glad Hunt went for the try. I don't think we had it in us to win golden point. They were making too many metres and we weren't moving up like we were against the Roosters.

But we had to get the field goal first and I had no confidence in us getting one.

Boyd was actually preferred over Mullen when the game hung in the balance last year against the Sea Eagles last year.

Wasn't a bad strike either IIRC, just off-target.

Milf seems to strike the ball pretty sweet from what I've seen, just get him working on it at training every week, he can't be any worse than Hunt.

Macca hits them perfectly just about every single time in the warm ups..

It had the distance, it just didn't have the direction. But he also had a lot of time to kick it.

Just resign our selves to running the ball to win close games instead of FG attempts.

That's his strength - go to your strengths in tight situations.

+1, if our forwards can lift in tight games keeping the opposition out of range, then we surely should trust our running game more than our kicking game.

Hunt has done it a few times, people complain that he can't take control of a game but damn can the kid stand up when we need him.

He's winning us matches. That's what we need.

He needs to work on his kicking, but that will come. It might take a couple YEARS.

He has what you can't teach - vision and the ability to read a game.
