I Live In Mount isa in north - west Queensland, when the Harvey Norman Centenary of Rugby League came through.
I got to meet some of the games greatest players like the king himself, Shane webcke and Mario Fenech. It was just an awesome feeling.

I've met heaps and heaps of players in my time, but shaking hands with The King literally had me speechless!!! The first time I met him was at the Federal Hotel in Toowoomba before one of the Broncos trial games there. He knew the owner of the pub who my family is good mates with as well, so the owner introduced me to Wally and I was seriously lost for words!!!!! To think it was ME, shaking hands with THE KING!!! Then he talked to our group for about 15 minutes!!!!!

Mick and I used to head to the Leagues Club after like every Broncos home game in about 2003 I think it was and we never had any problem talking to the boys and were always outgoing with them, but not Wally!!

Remember SOO Game 3 2006 in Melbourne, caught the FOGS bus from Telstra Dome to the after match function and was sitting on the bus up the back next to Geno and Wally, they were in a state of euphoria after the win and talkative as all hell, was a real buzz talking to them about the game for the half hour bus trip, will never forget it.

Tosser was up front next to the driver directing as always

Why on earth would you put Mario Fenech in the same breath as Webcke and Lewis? [icon_ee

1 of the guys i would love to meet and shake hands, my time will come i guess.

I was back home in Mt Isa a couple of weeks ago and I popped into the travelling road show at Harvey Norman. It's a pretty good display. There's a lot of history there which the average league fan should make the effort to get out and see. Did you ask Hodgo if he'd had time to reflect on his recent brain explosion? That's what you get when you keep dumping blokes on their heads - you get sent to Mt Isa for the day [icon_wink

Guys...imagine me.

At the Ekka, back when it was affordable; I was 8 or 9, they used to have the GC Seagulls stand. Well, my old man ushers me up, I look up and see a halo over the crown of the greatest man to ever play RL.

He shook my hand and I told him my Dad reckons he's the greatest ever player. He asked me what I reckoned, I said, "yeah I wish you were still a Bronco, but Alfie is my favourite.

WYYYYYYYYYYNNNNNNNNUUUUUUUUUUUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM

I remember this like it was yesterday. It was at the SOO game 3 and I was at the QLD hotel waiting for a lift to the game. i was only 4 or 5 then and I met the raging bull Gorden Tallis not only did we have a chat but he picked me up and nursed me like a father!! _woohoo_ afterwards we met the Welsh rugby player Jason Robinson and the cowboys players Jason Doyle and John Buttegieg _woohoo_

Wally often served my Mum when he worked in his Mums dele at Cannon Hill. Was as dumb as all hell then and playing for Wynnum our hated rivals. GO TIGES!!!!!!My husband was playing for them then so guess I missed the halo on Wal. [icon_ee

I met Willy Carne and he was doing a photo shoot back at the club and was chatting quite casually to him re his injury when I went all stupid and fell over my own feet. He was so cute
The Club had a thing where each week there was one or two of the players who would walk around and mix with the pokie players.Don't know if they still do that.
Met Hodgo at the surf club in Mackay one Xmas.Nice bloke and very quiet and shy then.He was playing for the Roosters at the time to. [icon_wink
