I'm in awe of Hazem El Masri: - Joey

He has 145 tries, that's in the top 10 try scorers in history, some of the tries he saves are brilliant and some of the tries he scored were brilliant. Last 2 years he's been average, his 2004 GF winning try was one example, he's no falou but some of the things he does are "magic" so to speak, His defense in his prime I would say one of the best defensive wingers, Watch him from 2006 and previous he was a very good player, unforunately age has caught up with him last year he wasn't very good (although the same could be said for the whole dogs team last year) and I doubt he'll be any good this year.

Also he was very good in his single origin game.

Some of the tries he scored were brilliant? Any examples, can't remember any.

The try to win the grand final?
If i had a video list of 145 tries I would show you, unforunately I don't.

You sure you're not just sticking up for him because of his religion.

He's pretty boring.

LOLZ at some people.

Like him or not, El Masri has been one of the better NRL wingers for the majority of the 2000's. Also LOLZ at the comments referencing "he's no Falou"...hell nobody is, which is why Broncos threw so much $$$ at Falou.

El Masri has always been an above average winger, the best goal kicker in the comp hands down and an all round solid player. In fact, his inability to "be brilliant" or whatever you guys want to call it, can very easily be likened to De Vere. Guys like this is what clubs are built on.

@ Nashy; there was bound to be one, why you got to be that guy? You simply lower your own (recently) high standards.

I am also in awe of Joey Johns, how did he manage to get away with taking drugs all through his career??

YAY someone who realises you don't have to take bombs like israel falou to be considered a good player.
Then again hammo, Average players get 145 tries and 292 games. He is by no means a brilliant player but over his career one of the better wingers who is consistent.

AND LOLZ at someone saying because of his religion I support him........ LOLOL I support him the same reason I support other league players I like him, and maybe just maybe he's a better bloke then most other players off the field to?

BTW He made city origin 5 times, Played for australia in 2002 and NSW in 2007(and killed it) and Lebanon in 2000.

El Masri has been a pretty good winger in his time. His game awareness was also top notch - hence why he's managed to score 145 tries in his career. In the right place at the right time. Always been very solid, never gave away stupid penalties was always there to finish off a play. Yes Hammo, you're right. He's much like De Vere has been in his career.

Unfortunately for El Masri, the game has evolved and he has started to get found out after around 2006. Bigger and faster outside backs started to dominate the NRL and El Masri's weakness were discovered. He's still a handy player though but not as valuable as he used to be.
I agree, 2007 onwards he just hasn't been the same, he's still ok, but tbh he's more of a backup player now. Age has certainly got to him.

Very true. The "kick it to the wings on 5th" play has changed outside backs forever. This started arund Origin 2005, when NSW had bigger outside backs compared to QLD, and the so-called "Blue era" was about to be bestowed upon all of the RL World.....

Another very good winger who has suffered from this change is Matt Utai.

I doubt it Sing has a huge leap for a little guy and held his own against everyone big and small under the high ball.

Or, he would have just waited until they caught the ball and laid under them to prevent the try.

All the other little wingers are going about it all wrong.

* Most tries for the club: 179 - 51 more than Terry Lamb's 123.

That's a pretty amazing effort. He's managed to make 179-51=123 [icon_lol1.

Yep, Despite his size he never really struggled with taking bombs or anything else, I think what's really affecting him in the past year or so is his lack of speed and really just getting on in age anyone remeber that try saver when anasta was over the try line last year?

Was that sarcasm, surely you understood what that meant?
179 tries 51 MORE THAN Terry Lamb's 123 who is the 2nd highest scorer for the dogs.

El Masri is an average winger at best. He brings nothing to the table physically besides the fact he kicks goals, and he isn't even the best at that anymore!

Top bloke, but he's past it.

Are you serious?

What's 123 + 51?
