Impact of Golden Point

I don't like having Golden Point during the competition rounds.

However what should happen during Origins, Finals and Internationals? Just plain extra time or stick with golden point?

What it used to be. 20 minutes (10 each way) of regular extra time, then golden point if it's still level.

I can take or leave golden point. Honestly I don't see what is wrong with a draw?

To this day I still don't know why the NRL have it in the normal season... obviously it can't be a money thing because they can't bank on how many they have in the season.

1) Old system where draw is worth one point = nothing wrong with a draw during the regular season IMO
2) IF the NRL decide never to scrap GP then Coxy's scenario 3 sounds good - I woudlnt mess with GOLDEN TRY or anything like that. GP is what it is - just change the POINT system rather than the actual GP.

Honestly i cant see the problem with a Thurston golden try winning a game after Lockys field goal and parkers penalties. If the hang up is points differential then have the points after normal time count 24 all. Winning team dont care cause they got the win and losing team at least dont have their f&a affected.
All that said i think it should go back to the way it was with no extra time in normal season and 20 mins extra time. Rarely if ever would it happen but then and only then should we have golden point.

I am happy for the draw to be back in the regular season and Golden point only to be used in the finals.

+1. Golden point as it is, fails. Refs put their whistles away, the teams just go for a goal and I for one don't like Rugby. Nothing wrong with splitting the points at the end of 80 mins.
