Sixty-six days after Brisbane announced Greg Inglis was a Bronco the superstar centre has still not secured a release from the Melbourne Storm nor signed a contract with Brisbane.

Neither NRL club was keen to explain the delay in Inglis inking his name on a two-year deal with Brisbane worth more than $1.2 million, though it is understood the issue is not salary cap related.

"It relates to reconciliation of some historical issues," Gauci said.
"Once we get agreement on those we will release him."
Gauci said it was a "sensitive" issue which the club did not want to discuss publicly.
I hope this is nothing to be concerned about. [icon_shru

Meh.

Players regularly take forever to sign contracts in the off season.

Meh, it'll be sorted and unless I'm mistaken he wouldn't be a Bronco until November 1st either way so it's a non-issue.

Meh. I just wanted to say meh because it seems like the cool thing to say.

hate those melbourne players.....

GI was probably told Henjak would be gone when he agreed to sign...he he.

I've been hearing some rumours that the reason Inglis hasn't been released by the Storm is that they are waiting to see what happens with Cronk and Parramatta ... as apparently Cronk wants a release to chase big $$$ at the Eels. has any one else heard a similar rumour

If cronk goes that is Melbournes problem, Inglis is coming to the Broncos, just look at how much of a shit storm it was when turner tried to back out and that was merely a verbal agreement in private.

That being said I hope Cronk goes, Melbourne will be shit without him directing the team every week. He is such a good and consistent player for them, glad to trade for Wallace lol.

the difference between the Turner and Inglis situations is that Turner had no contract and agreed to sign with the Titans, while Inglis had agreed to sign with us as long as he can get a release from the Storm, if they decide they don't want to release him we would have no way to force them to do so and get Inglis up here.

Greg Inglis to the Broncos is only being held up by a small financial/contractial loose end with Melbourne. All reports point to Inglis attending camp in November as a Brisbane Bronco.

Nothing to see here.

Melbourne released Inglis on 10th August.

The Test star was this afternoon released from the final two years of his Melbourne Storm contract and will be at Red Hill from the start of the 2011 NRL season.

The moronesphere that continues to prattle on about Wallace V's others just don't get it.

Keep your mouth shut and preserve the doubt.
If wallace was at Melbourne with craig he would be heralded as a superstar.
Cronk at brisbane would be critically panned.
Coaches who stage manage the movements of their forwards ( and cleverly) can make number 7's look good.
Those that have a half baked and under rehearsed approach to the critical plays from tackles 1- 4 run the risk.
There is the difference.
Don't point the finger at Wallace you cretins.
Look at baldilocks and the rudderless stooges who wear 8-13.
Examine the Broncos post the adhoc glory days.
Wallace is completely underutilised and overly frustrated.
This guy could be the best in the business.
The surrounding dinosaurs are the problem - on the field and off it.
Get Bellamy here as quick as possible.
He turns the avarage into the pretty bloody good.
PS.
Name a former Storm player who has improved since departing the best city in our land?

People need to get over Bellamy. He is a good coach yes, but he is also a coach of a team that has had the advantage of maintaining a roster well over the cap.

Regardless of the merits of that view however, we had a crack at him and missed out. Time to move on.

this was a quote from the article that Aeetee cited in the first post of the thread,

"It relates to reconciliation of some historical issues," Gauci said.
"Once we get agreement on those we will release him."
Gauci said it was a "sensitive" issue which the club did not want to discuss publicly.

the bolded statement is from their CEO. this comment shows that they haven't in fact released him yet

He didn't do a lot with Wallace when he was NSW coach...

Was NSW's best player in Origin 1 08, and got a big kick in the balls in game 2.
