Bullshit penalty against Cook Islands.

He loses that ball cold trying to play the ball quickly, there is no ruck interference.

You know your team is bad when Esan Marsters is the 5/8.

I have loved the passion in the crowd and at times the passion from some of the players but I hate that for these pacific island teams they're basically "plan B" for some individuals who didn't make Origin

I don't really know how the game grows internationally with that mentality

I think Cook Islands have been ok this game... when compared to who they're playing and who they've got available.

I think they've looked more dangerous than what Tonga looked against NZ

Cook Islands has been stopped 1m short on the last tackle multiple times. They've stepped up since the midway point of the first half

If these games formed the basis for a Pacific Islands/Polynesia team selection, like the West Indies in cricket, and that team competed with NZ, England and Australia it might mean more. It would be a damn good side.

To me it's the following:
- Make origin completely independent of international games (i.e if you qualify through age, etc. then you can play origin)
- No additional match payments for international games

If you're getting paid the same amount for Cook Islands as you are for Australia more players will look to represent whoever they're most passionate to play for.

Also if you allow kiwis, etc. that qualify for origin to be eligible for origin and also eligible for whoever they want in internationals then you will ensure that players play international games for whoever they're most passionate about representing... instead of making them decide between bigger pay cheques

Cook Islands have an opportunity here.

They are getting more possession and Samoa have dropped off a fair bit.
