Barr is having a much better run today. Dragging quite a few defenders for quite a distance on a couple of runs.

wow, wow, wow. i know tweed arent much good this year but here is a wrap of todays game between the magpies and tweed.
ese'ese, if you want to see a masterclass of a front rower in cup i suggest you watch the replay of this guy today. i have seen a lot of footy in my day but i will say thats the best i have seen from a front rower in a cup game.
pangai, he was very close behind ese'ese as best on field. nearly unstoppable on the edge and benefited from silky work provided by scarlett. this edge of scarlett, pangai and seve could be near unstoppable.
fai, george played a lot of minutes today and was really really good as well. his ball carries were great and proved a real handful.
seve, this was his best game today for the year. i was pleasantly surprised.

on a side note i seen the roosters main recruitment man at the game today. he must have been sniffing around for a reason.

Is there a ISC stat database anywhere? I'd love to see what sort of numbers Ese'ese, Pangai & Arrow are putting up.

Also interesting to see Pangai getting some ISC minutes after being named in the 20s, I guess Wayne is planing on blooding him around origin time.

im not sure on the database, but there would have to be something. i know arrow racks up big numbers week in week out but pangai and ese'ese are real game breakers and winners. they were on a different level today.
ese'ese made a break from his own 40 today and only got stopped 2 metres out. he is a beast. he scored a real good try too.

Is it wrong that I'm kind of hoping Parker retires at the end of this season, and we let Wallace & Glenn walk, so we can see some more of these guys. How refreshing would something like this be for next season.

8. McGuire
9. McCullough
10. Blair
11. Thaiday (After he's lost 10 kg in the off-season)
12. Gillett
13. Arrow

14. Nikorima
15. Ofahengaue
16. Ese'ese
17. Pangai Jr

You must still be having PTS from the Griffin era, it's ok, I did for a while as well. I think all the players are actually playing around about the weight they should be this year, Thaiday is obviously packing a little bit more because he's playing exclusively prop, I think he could lose it if we needed him to play second row next year.

The team is top of the comp, do we need refreshing?

Parker is so valuable in this side, to a lesser extent Glenn. His impending retirement is a reason why Glenn's value will increase. The young blokes will get a shot around Origin - and some top performances then could put some pressure on Wallace in particular, who is decent but a bit of a plodder.

But it's a competition-leading forward pack at the moment, figures it should be hard to break into.

Is Ese'ese ready for first grade ... I'd love to see the guy have a run of the bench in place of Wallace

he is definitely ready, but its hard to see wayne dropping everyone especially when we are winning

Do you know where you can watch a replay?

Not too sure about best ever performance that's a huge call- but his performance the last three weeks have been NRL standard if he's needed. He's 18th man most weeks now.

So we go from a premiership force with a strong forward pack to a team that is severely understrength in the forwards and has no depth either? Blooding 3 rookie forwards in a team has never ever worked for a club in one year. These kids have time on their side and need to be patient and wait their turn. Then they will be eased into first grade so as to not overwhelm them. There is no rush to get them there at the moment. Our team is doing an awesome job at the moment without them.

Well we'd obviously have about a decent amount of cap space if Parker retired and Glenn & Wallace were moved on, some of which would go to re-signing Gillett, the rest can go to signing depth forwards.

I don't really see how our strong forward pack turns into "severely understrength", could you please enlighten me on that? The only significant loss would be Parker, who does all the dirty work in attack and defence. Arrow has all the makings of being an extremely similar player long term, literally averaging like 220 metres and 45 tackles game in the ISC. We'd also probably gain some grunt by replacing Glenn with Thaiday (This really would only work if Sam was motivated to lose a bunch of weight and finish his career in the second row)

The rest of the starting pack remains the same, and our bench arguably gets stronger, with another season of Ofahengaue getting better, and Ese'ese & Pangai just being enormous skillful humans that would provide far more impact than our current bench does.

That's all assuming the young guys come in and do as good or a better job than our current forwards. Parker is world class, replacing him with anyone is ridiculous. He can retire whenever he wants, no young forward is going to come in and replace what he does for the team.

Plenty of promising young forwards in reserves come into first grade and turn out to be pretty damn average, if not shit. I wouldn't bank on it, certainly not to the stage of letting go proven performers in one of the best teams just on the off chance they all convert to star first graders.

They'll all get their chances, a few games here and there, and if they're stars they'll prove it and force their way into the team.

We're going to have to start thinking about the future at some stage mate.. He's 33.
