Is there such thing as a Broncos Fan who is a Blues supporter?

So you have to go for Brisbane Roar or nobody else?

I would expect there to be some sort of connection outside of just getting on the bandwagon because the club was probably at it's most dominant when you hopped on.

I have no doubt that's why a lot of people on here expect the Broncos to go from wooden spooners to premiers, they've never had to endure the sort of commitment required to be a true fan. If you talk to a diehard Penrith fan, you'll probably get a greater sense of appreciation from them given that they were one of the teams I am talking about. We as Bronco fans, we've had a few lean years but seriously, it's nothing compared to some of the other clubs out there yet we carry on like the NRL is out to bring us down. There's a bit of generalising going on there but that's the common theme when we cop a bad call, a bad night at the judiciary, whatever it may be.

People wanted Kev out after 18 months ffs. It's a level of entitlement you only witness from a fanbase that doesn't know how to handle the rough times.

I have said it before, if BHQ were to employ a psychologist and provide some sort of therapy after a loss to the fans on here, he himself would probably need a bit of therapy. The number of times people write us off, have half the squad belonging in QLD Cup, etc. It's actually amusing, if I can be perfectly honest.

Nah, you just have to pick a shit team. For instance, I started supporting the New Orleans Saints when they were ass, so I think I'm allowed to say 'we'.

I don't see an issue with people supporting a champion. In general most casuals are going to be attracted to a team that is successful, fun to watch, and enjoying media saturation. If it grows the sport than so be it.

My problem is the disassociation when that team turns to shit. If you are just as supportive in those times, you can consider yourself a fan.

I know though from my experience how football fans operate. When Barca got ousted from Europa League for the 2nd year running, there was a bit of disassociating going on, I can tell you exclusively. Yes I am fully aware they won their league.

What a football hipster. Who cares what team someone goes for? The first time I ever watched a game of football, Barcelona were playing in it and they had just hosted the Olympics, so as a kid that knew nothing of the world, I went for them and stuck with it through seasons where they didn't exactly "dominate".

You're probably a true blue Argentinian as well.

Oh you know I'm a Raiders guy and have seen them suck almost the entire time I've been a fan.

In club football.

Napoli, wasn't even alive when they last won the scudetto though. I wasn't old enough to fully appreciate Maradona either, my support of Napoli stems from the time of my life I spent in the city.

As you can possibly appreciate, I hate the way football is operated, you talk to most fans of a club that has all sorts of money at their disposal and they will try and buy their way out of a situation. Chelsea, Newcastle, these sort of clubs. Barcelona would be one of them, if they weren't in debt. They're in debt because of some of the worst contracts the sport has ever seen, more money than brains I would suggest.

There has to be some other connection to a team other than seeing them on TV tk be a true fan though. Doesn’t mean you had to travel there or anything. Just something more than watching them on TV

I know a Barca fan who switched to Liverpool after the #cornertakenquickly

It's just that easy. That's what tilts me the most.

Like what, though? Do you mean you can't just watch them on TV each week, you have to engage outside of that? Or is it something more spiritual than that even?

I became a fan of the Saints because my mate was a big NFL fan (because of his dad), and when we played Madden at his place I picked the Saints off of the menu purely because I liked the jersey and logo. Over the years I learnt more and more about the sport (mostly through Madden) before I started fully following the Saints year to year, and watching every game I could. And now I'm not sure if I'm a true fan yet, or can ever be...

Speaking of, am I delusional for being excited about Derek Carr? I genuinely don't know how I should feel, haha!

Outside of the absolute basket case situation he's been in his entire pro career, Derek Carr will be great. I will definitely be cheering on NO in non Raider games this season.
