Israel's beliefs have no impact on me. I admire his strength of conviction. It's something far too many people are lacking these days. I think the whole thing has been ridiculous.

I'm no fan of Folau's comments on social media and the ARU had the right to sack him as they did. That said I think it would be a bit rich for an outright dismissal of consideration of Folau returning to Rugby League or even the Broncos for that matter when there are players who have probably done much worse and remained or returned, including our own Matt Lodge who I think has shown given the opportunity can redeem themselves when one wants to genuinely do so.

Perhaps Beattie needs to reconsider his speech? Saying, ““We are an inclusive game with respect for all” and demonstrating it by excluding someone from the game and showing no respect for their religious beliefs. Religious beliefs which, by the way, I personally consider to be clearly fucking absurd.

And the Rabbitohs are not interested in James Roberts.

It's a PR decision to refuse Folau to play NRL with offensive posts remaining online. It will be an even bigger PR stunt to "reconcile" with Folau, as well as appeal to the many players and fans with strong religious beliefs, by making him agree to remove the offensive posts and show that we are all different but all one big community. Hold hands and celebrate our differences.

And then he'll sign for the Roosters.
