FFS.....if the focus is on Folau at Origin time then it's the media and the dickheads responding to the questions about Izzy who are to blame. If we're not talking about it then where's the issue ?? Origin is about many issues, Folaus future is just one thing. What's to talk about anyway ?? It will be old news by the time Origin 2s on and then , if selected, Folaus future will be mentioned only in passing.

The argument suggesting it will divert focus is piss poor, don't fall for it. The people suggesting that are the very ones who'd bring it up all the time.

How dumb is it to weaken the Origin side so as to punish a player because he's retiring from rugby league. Next year is next year. I remember Scott Draper retiring from tennis to go and play golf for a living , this is no different. For once Darren Lockyer, in my opinion, should have kept his own opinion to himself.

Imagine Lockyer retiring at the end of the year and getting a new role as an ambassador for snooker, spruiking the merits of the game on a worldwide stage and highlighting Australias World Champion Robertson. Not a soul would suggest he be dropped from Origin. I know that's hypothetical but the point is there. An idiotic decision to drop Folau if that's what happens. Irrational, emotional, juvenile, pedantic and reactionary.

You really like snooker don't ya? [icon_lol1.

LOLZ!!!

Snooker is not in direct competition with NRL so that is a poor example to use.
I still LOL'd though, probably the first time I've heard snooker come up in a rugby league discussion [icon_lol1.

When is Izzy taking up the European Rugby bait prior to his AFL career to follow in the footsteps of his idol and mentor Karmichael?

Let's face it, both Karmichael and Israel will last a year in AFL before they are released.

from what i have read he isn't... they have him playing the reserve grade comp next year, which if the GC were smart the would have done with Hunt

Hunt plays his first VFL game on June 12. It's annoying, because I'll be in Melbourne a few days earlier. If it was on this weekend I'd love to go watch.

Depending on whether my kid is born or not I intend on going for a look so I will give a report on his efforts..

We could've gone together in Broncos jerseys and heckled the players!

And that is why AFL went out and payed so much money for Hunt and Folau.

How many other league fans would be thinking the same thing eusa_think

Don't get too confused... This would be out of curiosity and to have a good laugh, not to suddenly start following the code just because Hunt or Folau play there. Yes, they may get a few more kids to Auskick, but they lack any infrastructure to make a real dent in RL.
I'm speaking for the GC where I live and RL is in a totally different league than AFL, and I can't imagine it being much different in West Sydney.

Have a look at how long the Lions have been a successful club in Brisbane, but have made very little progress in the youth ranks actually choosing to play the code.

agreed. Despite the shitty crowds, the Titans are massive here. Whereas the only AFL support seems to be from vic expats

Don't wear Broncos jerseys, wear Bulldogs jerseys & let them take the blame.

I am telling you now AFL is so much bigger in Melbourne than League is in Brisbane...

Probably because that's where half the teams are based.

your porbably right, you really can't escape AFL down here. Brisbane gives much more exposure to the Lions than Melbourne gives the storm.

Maybe because there are so many more people living there.

Yeah there are many reasons why it is the way it is.. Just saying I have seen nothing League at all down here.
