OFFICIAL Jack Bird goes down

We'll see. I'd bet on Arthurs tbh. He has already stolen Isaako's starting wing position.
Playing FB and playing wing are two entirely different positions. No way Seibs gambles with a rookie who may or may not have ever played in that role.

It would be hilarious if we see the return of Darbs to fullback!

The worst part of that scenario is that we’d all still be watching every Thursday and Friday night like good little boys and girls. At least I have SuperCoach and this community to ease the pain.

FWIW Badel already confirmed Isaako will be the fullback for R1.

He trained there all pre-season, Arthars has been training in the centres and on the wing all pre-season. It's Isaako's job to lose, he'll get the first couple of months at least.

Coach has said he doesn’t see Isaako as a fullback

That's quite literally the opposite of what he said.

He said he thinks Isaako is exclusively a Fullback, hence why he selected Arthars ahead of him on the wing.

Where is this supposed video footage of the incident? Is that actually real or a fantasy?

Never mind, in numerous sources now.

Is Niu in the full-time squad? Can he be rushed in? Would much prefer him over Isaako.

Same, I hope they at least try and get Niu promoted. Isaako offers nothing but kicking.

Welcome to football.....

Im absolutely shattered for the guy; regardless, this was make or break year for Bird with us, and this apparently was the position he wanted all along.

I mentioned somewhere in another thread i was concerned about the physical toll playing fullback would have on him considering his injury history, then put that thought into a deep dark place in the back of my mind.....

And then i open nrl.com and see....

****!

He has a player option in his favour for next year which he will definitely take. Love paying him $900k a year for an average of 5 games a season. Poor bloke but he needs to be medically retired

Up to the club and player to decide if he is done. Its not as easy though as just get rid of him, he has a contract.

Well obviously, but it’s time to start the process. He has a player option for next season, we need to see if we can convince him to explore other options and not activate it (whatever it’s terms are)

Maybe it's something we are doing at Brisbane. He never seemed to have knee these issues at Cronulla. He could just be unlucky.

It would be hilarious if we see the return of Darbs to fullback!
He has rheumatoid arthritis, an auto immune disease. Wonder if that has anything to do with it? He’s been On pain meds since he was a teenager to manage it. I saw this in an interview before his NRL debut, was one of the reasons the dragons weren’t all in on him and let him go to Cronulla.

Same knee as the last ACL tear. He's popped it again I reckon. We're all sitting here fuming, how do you think Bird is feeling right this moment staring at the end of his career

Well...i didn't have huge hopes for us this year; there still exists a large gap between our roster and those in the top 4...

Looks like we will have another season of young bloods coming in as the club searches for answers....silver lining.....loved seeing Coates get his debut..

Guy picked the wrong career. Get rid of him already.

He would be crazy not to take it. I would if I were him. Our only option is get a medical opinion now. I doubt it will be enough to retire him. Lots of players have had multiple acl injuries.

Possibly. I wouldn't have a clue though

Wouldn't that condition make him eligible? Continuing to play could cause him further harm with that shit.

Didn’t Milford and Macca go down with injuries which were initially thought to be serious but in the end wasn’t serious?

Pray for bird
