It's only really a loss in the short term and even then, from all reports, the Titans were paying Idris a small fortune and had a lot of third party type deals tied into him as well which would have been a pain to organise.
He had a much improved 2013, but it still wasn't better than his first real year in the competition (2009) and he checked out of the competition before things really heated up and he would have really been tested.
If they use the Idris money to secure a good fullback and draft in a serviceable centre, they'll be better in the long run.
You're probably right. It's probably really going to hurt them this year though. If I was them, I'd start chasing KHunt like no tomorrow.
