OFFICIAL James Roberts granted immediate release

Surely we have some young players coming through
that would be worth looking at first

Big mistake Jimmy has won many a game for us in the past and is a game breaker. This is Seibold and Whites doing.

absolutely it is Seibolds and Whites doing .... they should both be applauded for doing it. what is even better is that they were able to do it without us having to carry one cent of his contract for the next 18 months ... bravo 👏 ... this is something Bennett was never able to pull off

I can remember maybe 1 game in 4 years that it could be counted that he won for us ... we'll survive without him, in fact we'll thrive

Well, Bennett has gone down some in my estimation based on that last quote.
Don't tell them anything, fine. But don't tell straight out lies just because they're writing about it in the papers.
Gee. Bennett lying in the media for his own interests.. surely not. Everything he says is the truth!!

Who cares man. According to Seibold he was totally unaware of Roberts leaving, yet he's been released a few days later.

Name one game other than that roosters one
Here's just one, for the irony. Note the last try scorer for the Broncos:

No he hasn't.

He has been a game changer it's fair to say. That Try against the Roosters for example last year turned the game. Many different ways of being a match winner for me. He isn't a match winner though in respect of scoring final points to win games I'd agree.

The sharks game doesn’t count. We were flogging them already and didn’t require Roberts to change the game.

He did play origin last year.

And I thought he was lucky to be picked.

Here's his player ratings from NRL.com for the three origin games

Game 1
JAMES ROBERTS 6
Was solid without doing anything too flashy. Didn’t get a chance to get into speed and use his pace. Missed two tackles but was generally solid in defence.

Game 2
4. James Roberts: Still question marks over his defence after the Maroons created plenty of space on his edge. Busier in attack than game one with four busts and nudging 100 metres. Will be remembered for a late professional foul that could have proved more costly than it did. 4.5

Game 3
4. James Roberts: Had his hands full with Dane Gagai on his edge and just managed to hold him out. Fair effort and a testament to his improved defence in the last 12 months. Still yet to unleash on the Origin stage, but it's not as if he let opportunities pass him by. 6.5

Like I said, hardly lighting the world on fire. In all honesty, you could apply these comments to probably 75% of the games he played for the Broncos. If he lights it up at Souths, then good on him, but we've had way better Bronco centres than him.

in the second game you list we won by 23 points ... scoring the last try when we win by that much is not being a match winner ... if you want to be technical about it Alex Glenn scored the match winner ... Ofahengaue and Roberts just got bonus tries

Whether he scored the last try, or the try that put us ahead, or the first try or anything else is irrelevant. Jimmy's speed gave him the ability to rapidly turn the tables on the opposition. We could be trapped defending our goal line or deep in our own half and it would only take a dropped ball or a half break and he'd be gone.

I'm not glad he's gone but it sounds like there was no alternative. Hope he plays well except for against us.

It's a tough one. Bennett lies to the media because he hates them, something I can relate to, but his act of lying is hardly virtuous as well. You're almost tempted to side with them until you see Paul Kent on 360 going off his tits in an entitled rant about how players and coaches treat the media as if they are some sort of important arm of the game (and not self serving twats who are chasing clicks) then you just wanna tell them to **** off.
