Flutterby said:Exactly he had EVERY opportunity to pull out of it. A guy who is lauded week after week for his freakish ability, agility, balance etc etc etc could have avoided sliding in with his knees - the try was scored before he slid. Additionally, his eyes were never on the ball from the vision I've seen.
Seriously I wonder if Gibbs and Merritt could sue the judiciary for their obvious double standards. And IMO the Gibbs one on Burt wasn't as bad as this one from Hayne.
I also think the Smith situation last year and the subsequent thrashing Melbourne got with him out may have also contributed to the very low grading to ensure there wasn't a repeat with one of the star players missing the game and their team losing.
I tell you one thing - this decision has set a very dangerous precedent for next season.
But yeah, at least there won't be any excuses.
But this is a flaw with our judiciary - there is no precedent in our judiciary, for some reason
However, I agree, as I want Parra to win, and it should be good for the spectacle - lets hope he does it again in the last few minutes after the Eels have wrapped the game up - makes the judiciary look stupid - Hayne and Slater could have a competition to see who does more damage - Hayne leading with his knees or Slater leading (& stomping) with his feet
