Pretty sure that the charge they slapped him with is one that they have to prove intent for. Would have been pretty difficult I'd imagine - especially as some vision suggests that Weston had hold of his boot and he may have been simply struggling to break free. Now don't get me wrong, I hate this bloke as much as the next person, but I can understand the judiciary letting him off.
As for Gallen getting off, so he should have. It was really no different to the hit that Karmichael put on Anasta at the start of the year. Purely accidental, the guy was falling into it, penalty sufficient for making contact with the head.
