People/companies don't want to be associated with serial losers. I can understand that.

Titans problems of late haven't been Hayne, it's been Henry.

Roberts/Taylor combo was building well, Titans were getting wins on the board and they were starting to look like a better side. A Hayne/Roberts/Taylor combo was starting to look very promising for them. Then they lose to Penrith, which by the way they were hard done by a fair bit as several of the Panthers tries shouldn't have been tries, and then Henry makes the decision to put Elgey at 5/8 who has been utter rubbish.

Hayne has been one of their better players lately.

He stunk it up on Saturday night but so did everyone else. Taylor was a one trick pony and lacked variety in his attacking game, and Elgey was just rubbish. Inconsistency in their halves has been a problem this year.

Hayne hasn't been at the top of his game, but he hasn't been as bad as people are making him out to be and it's going to take a lot more than getting rid of him to fix their problems as he isn't the root of their problems.

For starters they should start by sacking Henry.

What does that company even do?

HK based investment company. They own a casino up north too or something.

I wonder if they were trying to build the casino on the spit, and the government canning that has caused them to pull out?

Yeah the only stuff I can find relevant to their Titans sponsorship is the proposed hotel in Surfers and the farm that I drive past every day.

Yep, well said. While the Hayne situation hasn't helped...moving him to centre to accommodate Roberts and Elgey has been ridiculous.

TITANS star Jarryd Hayne has sensationally claimed he is willing to walk away from the club if Neil Henry does not want him, revealing the coach refused to talk to him in the lead-up to Saturday’s loss to St George Illawarra.
In a fiery aftermath to Gold Coast’s fourth consecutive loss, Hayne said he would speak with his manager Wayne Beavis this week as he explores the possibility of cutting short his stay at the Titans.
He is also racing the clock to be fit to play his former club Parramatta on Thursday after leaving UOW Jubilee Oval in a moon boot.

Jarryd Hayne in a moon boot after Saturday’s game between the Dragons and the Gold Coast Titans.
The NRL has been abuzz with talk that Henry and his star played had fallen out and Hayne confirmed their relationship had soured recently.
“I don’t know, up until this week I thought the (relationship) was all right,” Hayne said. “If his opinion has changed from what he told me then that’s for him. For me I will talk to my manager during the week to figure it out. If he doesn’t want me here then I’ll move on.
“It’s not one of those cases (where) I’m sticking out. If someone doesn’t want you there and it’s clear as day I will move on. He is the coach.
“He hasn’t spoken to me this week. It is a little bit (weird).”
Hayne and Henry have a year left on their respective deals after Hayne exercised a $1 million option for 2018. The enigmatic fullback said recent media speculation had stung,
“When people send you articles,” Hayne said. “I don’t read the paper. People ask me what’s going on and I’m like ‘oh shit’ … I’ll talk to my manger. If he doesn’t want me here I won’t be here.
“It’s one of those things. As a person I think he is a great bloke. As far as coaching if he doesn’t see me in the picture, I respect that but I would rather find out from the person rather than the paper. That’s what I’m disappointed in.
“It’s been tough to enjoy (football). As a team we’re all down on confidence. We’re not playing anywhere near as good as we can.”
Henry had “no comment” about his relationship with Hayne.
“He is a player in the team,” Henry said. “We talk and converse and do things. There’s been a lot of media about him at the moment. The thing that makes the go away is his performance. That will take care of things. He had a couple of strong touches early. Hard to get into the game with not a lot of possession.”
Henry is facing a fight to keep his own job as the Titans crashed to another heavy loss going down 42-16 after leaking 28 unanswered points. Henry said he had not sought any assurances from the Titans board regarding his position.
“Coaches are under pressure all the time,” Henry said. “I’ve got to get on with my job and that’s prepare my team as best as I can each week. I can’t stop the speculation. It’s up to all of us to play some decent footy.”
Meanwhile, Hayne is in doubt to face the Eels on Thursday because of an ankle injury. It would be the first time Hayne lines up against his former club.
“It’s a lateral sprain,” Hayne said. “I did it in the first half but tried to stay out there. It got worse. I have to wait 24-48 hours to see how it pulls up.
“I’ve been really looking forward to this game. I’m hoping I’m right to play them.
“I’ve got a lot of close friends there. It’s always good when you play against your mates.”

This was always going to end in tears for the Tits.

The only way selfish players with pea hearts like Hayne are ever going to work is when they have a run of form like he did in 2009.

I feel the hating on Hayne thing has gone too far now though.

If the rumours about Henry not wanting Hayne are true then that's part of the problem right there.

But they could get rid of Hayne, it's not going to solve anything. Their problems are much deeper than him.

I don't think they are. They were building, and Hayne showed up.

So channel 9 news' "exclusive interview" which they had talked up all afternoon and evening with Hayne consisted of him relaxing on Burleigh beach telling the journo to pretty much piss off and that he had no comment and ended with him walking off just ignoring the questions. Fmd the media are some low scum.

Is it just me or is Hayne incredibly awkward. How hard would it have been to say - "I enjoy playing with this group of players at the Titans. We have had a rough patch but we are all committed to finishing the season strongly." Just toe the company line, bro.

But he is Jarryd Hayne man, Jarryd Hayne! The most important guy in the world of Hayne.

TBF what has he said wrong. Yes this will most likely be a great signing for the Titans, but it could very easily go belly up. As Tom even pointed out a very recent example of when it has.

By having to reshape the roster as it appears the Titans will have to do it puts players offside (ala Rabbitohs). When that player doesn't live up to the hype like Burgess hasn't it can cause fractures.

If Hayne comes in and brings his previous form it will more than likely be all rosy, however if he doesn't (and bearing in mind he has been out of the game for 2 years under completely different training regimes) then it could all end in tears very quickly.

Nothing wrong with pointing that out as a possibility.

Been reading the Hayne signs for Tits thread. Some got it right.
