Ive had fun at casinos and walked away lighter in the wallet plenty of times but i never bet more than i can afford so its not a problem - i enjoy the ambience of casinos, the camaraderie at certain table games like craps, the fact i can drink at just about any time of the day or night and its no problem.

Sure you could have fun elsewhere, but most of those other places could be argued are a purveyor of other insidious elements like alcoholism/alcohol related violence etc - but i dont hold those establishments accountable in the same way i dont hold casinos accountable.

If you have an issue with something you either work on your self control or remove yourself entirely from the sitch.

As usual the truth is somewhere in the middle. Casinos arent for everyone but they can be fun and if people are sensible most will enjoy themselves, those that dont believe in gambling or have issues should absolutely stay away.
