OFFICIAL Jonah Pezet to join Broncos in 2027

Mate let me spell it out for you, Reyno is cooked and we should be moving him on. If we brought Pezet here now he'd be playing most of the year as I dont see Reyno lasting anything like even half the year. When Reyno does eventually go down with injury we'll have the aging Dozer, no Billy and so only Mam with a fresh pair of legs in the halves.

Sure we have players like Black coming through, but they are not ready at this stage.

We're not talking about what YOU want ... We're talking about REALITY ... and the REALITY is that ADAM REYNOLDS WILL BE THE BRISBANE BRONCOS HALFBACK IN 2026.

so with this REALITY in mind why the **** would we shoot ourselves in the foot by signing Pezet to be a backup / bench player. It is best for both Pezet and us that he be a full time starting half in 2026. We can't offer that.

I also heard after the Pezet news, the Eels have moved to update their logo.

Mate reality is just for those of us who can't face drugs. There's no need to shout by the way I don't need my hearing aid to read.

I know what the Broncos are planning for next year, in my opinion (which is what this website is supposed to primarily be about, you know people expressing alternative views) in my opinion we should be quietly tapping Adam on the shoulder and telling him his seat upstairs is getting cold.

No small coincidence that the team kicked on when he bust his hammie. Look I love the bloke, but I think he's best utilized as a coaching mentor.

I'm sure this conversation took place but Reyno wanted to keep playing.
It would have been an ugly look to push him so this is the compromise.

Reynolds IS NOT RETIRING, regardless of what some fans want

And since Reynolds is not retiring he will be selected as the starting 7 when fit which will probably be 3/4 of the year.

It's not that hard of a concept to grasp ... But let me spell it out for you

He would play a full season in the halves with the Eels vs maybe a quarter of the season in the halves with us.

He doesn't need more time as an NRL fill-in player ... He needs NRL game time. In 2026 he will get significantly more playing with the Eels.

If he came to us in 2026, he'd be further back in his development when we hand him the 7 jersey in 2027 ... Simply because we can't give him the game time to get those miles in his legs
I don't know that he is an automatic selection at #6 for the eels . They have a cpl of very handy back ups to Moses already. He will need to beat them for a starting spot .

Pezet wouldn't be coming to us in 2027 to play 2nd fiddle again like in storm. We would of had to promise him a starting role, so Reynolds either retires or leave its simple.
He's signed a contract. If he can't make 1st. grade that is his problem to solve .

Duffy ?

Well things maybe aren't as dire as you are making it seem ?
I said maybe mate, he’s been dumped by the cowgirls so not a great endorsement. I never said yeh that would solve our issues. I’ve never seen the guy play, so yeh maybe.

I think you are in chicken little mode .

In Donuts and Madge we trust .

It's difficult to force a guy out who is still under contract and wants to stay, especially one that was instrumental in rebuilding us as a force.
Agree he's possibly playing a season too long but ultimately it's not a big deal, the future is sorted and he gets to honour his final year and goes on out on his terms.
Our key players are in either in their prime or yet to enter, so 12 months isn't a huge waste.

I still can't believe Parramatta accepted him on a 1 year deal.

He's not an elite proven rep quality half

Not sure what to think about it when it comes to their perspective tbh. I'm not familiar with their squad as it stands but apparently they have a couple coming through who aren't ready yet?

Ryles was around him for a fair bit at storm so he knows exactly the type of player he's getting.

Given how much time Moses spends on the side line and their backup 7 was Hawkins who just left for Super League, I can understand wanting to get a half that he knows inside out, whilst allowing the juniors to develop.... their young halves just aren't ready yet by all accounts.

We were basically talking about it with Bhunt being a bridging halfback until Coby is ready to go... that's basically what parra are looking to do.

Joash looks to be a better fullback than 6 and the other guys are too young.... but those are the guys they want to build the future around, so bringing in a guy to cover 12 months means the pathway to first grade is not blocked at all.

It's pretty low risk if you have the cap space and were basically zero chance of getting him long term.
