OFFICIAL Jonah Pezet to join Broncos in 2027

Even if Reynolds gets an injury next year and we had Pezet, we’d be mad to put him to 7 instead of Hunt given the run to finals he just had there.

To many unknowns with Pezet when you compare the alternative being two genuine senior halves.

Great to have an exciting 7 with a full years experience at his back coming in for us when we have to come to terms with losing 2 seniors at once, I think it’s a great way they’ve managed to swing it.

Only argument I could see for next year is he misses a year under hunt and Reynolds and having time to learn the systems, but between Munster, Hughes and Moses that’s already some great players to have worked with.

Let's look at a player like Nathan Cleary.

2020 - 21 games
2021 - 20 games
2022 - 17 games
2023 - 22 games
2024 - 13 games
2025 - 22 games

Now let's compare that to Reynolds.

2020 - 23 games
2021 - 25 games
2022 - 20 games
2023 - 23 games
2024 - 13 games
2025 - 22 games

Injuries happen.

Reynolds still adds value to this team and he has earned the right to go out on his own terms.

Madge on Pezet signing

“Jonah has had a great schooling at the Storm, but I think we can get the best out of him,”

“There’s an opportunity here to build on what we want to become as a club, which is having sustained success, that’s what we’re chasing and Jonah can be a key part in adding to that.

“It is still 12 months down the track (before Pezet joins the Broncos), but I’m very excited to have that connection with him and in time, he will come to life at our club.”

“Jonah is a great young guy and a great human,” Maguire said.

“I like the way he carries himself, he is a footy head.

“He is very diligent in how he thinks about the game and the benefit for us is that Jonah will get another 12 months of experience with Parramatta.

“To be able to build on what we achieved in the grand final (beating Melbourne) is something Jonah can add to, but we have another 12 months and another opportunity before he gets here.

“We have Reece (Walsh) and Ezra signed up and with Jonah coming, there’s a long-term ability to succeed, which is exciting.”

Dave Donaghy on Pezet signing

“Jonah is a very promising young talent with a lot of potential,” he said.

“The attraction of wearing that No.7 Broncos jumper really appealed to him so we’re thrilled to have him coming to our club.

“Jonah came to Brisbane and looked at the facilities after the grand final and worked out where he wanted to be. He had some different conversations.

“Everything happened pretty quickly in the end.

“It’s a unique one and a peculiar one where he is not coming to us immediately, but he will be at Parramatta for the next 12 months, he will do a great job for them and he is a real competitor.

“Meeting Jonah, he is really hungry and I’m sure he will be in an environment under Jason Ryles (Eels coach) where he will learn a lot and do a good job for them and then join us the following year.

“I’m looking forward to adding him to the group.”

I was in and out of the dragons eels game.

Pezet seemed to play well again from what I happened to see? Anyone got a bit of a summary of his game?

His defence seems to need a little work

His defence seems to need a little work
He looks pretty good in attack and seems to be getting more comfortable being on the left in the eels structure.

His defence looks really bad though... a partnership of him and Ezra might be the leakiest edges in the comp next year.

His defence seems to need a little work
He runs nice shape in attack and his long kicking is great.

Arm grabs in defence though
