Josh Hoffman

Re: ben barba/josh hoffman

Can someone find some stats like in the Hunt thread to to see how Hoff stacks up this season compared to other halves ?

Re: ben barba/josh hoffman

Try assists 1 from boot in round 1 or 2. Successful passes under 10. Roughly that's what in think they are

Ben Barba is great.

Let him go. Not worth the dramas he brings. Not willing to drop Vidot for him, not willing to drop Copley for him and Milford can play fullback if Barba doesn't.

I certainly wouldn't give him the arse if he hasn't got another gig lined up, but if he has a starting fullback spot lined up at another club I wouldn't deny him a release for next season.

1. Barba/Milford
2. Vidot
3. Reed
4. Hodges
5. Copley
6. Milford/Barba
7. Hunt

Nuff said.

what I find frustrating with the whole josh hoffman/ben barba situation is that now people seem to think that moving Josh to fullback is a possible solution to improve the team. It seems that he couldn't get his own way to play fullback at the beginning of the season, but as a supposed Griffin favourite scored the 5/8 position. Imo this has affected the whole team balance to the point where our left side attack is pretty non-existent, and Ben Barba is under the pump because he's not playmaking/supporting/compensating for Josh well enough. The pre-season dramas seem to be forgotten, now we speculate 'rewarding' josh with the fullback position that he desires. This doesn't seem to make sense to me. I think the consideration should be is josh the better fullback than ben - yes, move to fullback, no - leave ben there. Then we just need to figure out our 5/8 and left side dillema.

Well we know Hoffman will be either the 6 or 1 in griffins eyes. He can do less damage from the 1 and is good under the high ball. Ben Barba has always been a bit suspect under the high ball but makes up for it in other ways (or has in the past) and he doesn't seem to play as well being forced to compensate for the lack of 5/8th and would be better just playing 5/8th so he would get the ball more often.

The more Barba can get his hands on the ball, the better. He can get the ball one off the ruck in the opposition half and decide what he wants to do with it. At the moment, he gets the ball from a bomb being kicked to him and him having to return it and run into a wall of defenders, which usually equals him getting smashed.
