Absolutely. Attitude and instinct. I also wish he would develop some more passing skills. He would be awesome

The Webcke thread made me think about his strengths and McGuire has a lot of the same IMO.

His face when he runs is so scary. He's a good runner. Lol against the knights he ran and Akuila dropped the ball

A bright spot for the season. he works as hard as Hannant but has a bit more mongrel in him.

Hannant stood out earlier in the season before he got injured, displaying a pretty effective passing game. McGuire definitely outshone him in the 2nd half of the season though.

It's a shame about the eye injuries he's copped, if not for them he would've been consistently beasting.

I hope his eyesight improves and avoids any more bad luck, he deserves the opportunity to go hard for a full season just focusing on footy.

Really good strong ball runner with plenty of heart and determination, a future Origin player as well.

He's fast becoming a favourite of mine and he's grown a lot as a player of the past couple of years. He used to be a 20 minute hot-headed benchie. He's done well especially with the unfortunate eye injuries (hopefully they can fix it at some point, although he seems to be coping pretty fine). He's got some useful skills (that chip kick for Gillett to score against Manly last year I think) and some pretty decent passes. My only little criticism is I'd prefer him to not do that little hop step before hitting the line. He's pretty quick and that kills his momentum enough to let the defence absorb him and put him down easier. Just put your foot down and floor it son! I think in that same Manly game off the kickoff he made like 30m from the first hit up pushing Buhrer backwards along with him with just one hand. Needs to do that more often. Long term I think he's a lock, his work rate is Parker-esque, even in the front row. Machine.

A gun, an awesome club man too .... playing through pain and injury.

I look forward to another big year from him next year

knew hed be a star right from his first few games, and said as much on here. hes already our best prop. gets through a mountain of work and always gives 100% in everything even when hes playing 80 minutes.

unlucky with injuries, wouldve played state of origin this year otherwise. will definitely be there next year if uninjured. him and hoffman (and possibly hunt) are the only shining lights in our young guys IMO.
