Justin Hodges Cleared to Play

If a player jumps etc...do you have a bit more detailed quote or extract of the rules covering that Nashy ? I need to shut up an annoying parra supporter who reckons the whole thing is a farce.....is it definitely in the rules ?

Yeah it is true. Once they jump player has no responsibility for what happens

It's really up to how the judiciary sees the incident.

Guerra's testimony was pretty crucial. I don't think Hodges would have been cleared if Guerra didn't do that.

It's not the the official rule book, but they make mention of it in the official judiciary protocols. I'll see if I can find the PDF again, but what I quoted was a copy/paste from that book.

It does mention "so as to offload the ball", which wasn't what Guerra did technically. He was only trying to land on his head... :spy:

Hodges sent a scare through training today unable to train with his injured back.

I actually think the Broncos referred to a different document, which was a clearer explanation which matched what happened with the tackle.

It's in the same spirit I would say... meaning it was a deliberate action by the tackled player to gain an advantage.

It's not like they could say "so as to milk a penalty by diving on his head", although upon reflection, it probably happens often enough to warrant such an inclusion. Inglis is a master at doing it for example...

It's the "vibe".

Glenn and Dodds couldn't train either.
I think I remember something that WB said years ago after taking a player or players into a big game who were not really right to go. It was along the lines of him learning a lesson about taking too big a risk and he wouldn't be doing that in the future. I'd say he'd rather go with a fit second choice rather than a very risky first pick so if a player isn't up for it, he may add another member to his squad. I'm hoping we hit the game with everyone really ready.

I haven't been keeping up with grand final build up but have seen glimpses of this shitstorm. Can only hope it's settled down.
