They agreed to terms in November of 2021.

The day the contract was set to be signed, Karl and his family parted ways with their manager. When Karl went to sign the contract, all he was concerned with was whether he'd be in the NRL squad, he'd be considered a five-eighth and he'd get to meet Walters.

Things came to a head on November 1st when Karl found out he wasn't in the NRL squad. The Broncos also informed him they considered him a lock/dummy half and wanted him to change his body shape.

Adamson allegedly requested a 'letter of offer' and the club claimed they lost it.

The Broncos claimed Karl's manager requested a substantial upgrade and months prior and had been trying to work with Oloapu's camp.

Obviously you could expand on that a bit but the moment it became clear that he currently had no manager, they should have put an end to the meeting.

I was disappointed that Kempy didn’t even try to make it a balanced argument and basically said let’s judge the Broncos under the premise that everything the kid said was true. No mention of the fact that he only became disgruntled when his new manager needed a cut and he thought he could get more money.

I get that his co-hosts love putting the boot into the Broncos but as a former Bronco you would think we could get a fair shake from at least one person in the media.

The club also has a 17 year old sign a contract without any qualified representation and failed to have the head coach meet with the most promising junior.

To sort of go off on a related tangent, with Mam coming on in seeming leaps and bounds and also seemingly sowing up the 6 spot, where does Kylo actually fit in? It makes sense the club wants to see if he can be turned into a 9 or 13 and if he can't, well at least he is stronger in body shape as a half.

Also, in all of this doom and gloom that @theshed is definitely doing a lot of lately, even taking pot shots at this forum itself, one of the things that gets lost in all this is that this kid thought he was bigger than the club. All reports put it to The trying to get him to agitate for a release to get a bigger offer and as it turns out, the offer he has got at the Dogs is like double what we had him on. It also seems quite convenient that after basically agreeing to terms, he fires his manager on the day of signing and still goes in to the signing meeting.

At this point, the Broncs may well have done something wrong and tried to take advantage of the situation and we will never know what really happened next but to put this totally on the club for losing him speaks to a bias against the club. They may well be partly at fault but this situation is not totally on them, clearly. And this is different to the Walker situation because Walker didn't screw the club around, the club screwed him around, there is no doubt there whatsoever.

If this kid is happy to treat us the way he did by dragging the club through the mud and claiming he would never play for us after suddenly getting a better offer somewhere else, why would we want him here? It isn't like Mam is a hack in comparison and right now, what we do now is that Mam is 2 years older, has already played NRL and has set it alight AND he wants to be at the club.

Kylo may go on to have a great career, who cares, no one who does what he did to the club deserves defending, simple as that. Just like Haas doesn't deserve any defense for the stunt he pulled last year.

Has to be one or the other does it? No middle ground? Also, how do you know the club isn't taking accountability? You don't think an organisation supposed well run will do a review into this and see what went wrong on their end? Do you expect them to come out to the public and say all of this? No organisation does that.

Yep he would be wonderful there and he would have pathwayed through 14 most likely but he didn't want to do it, end of story. He wants to do what he wants to do, nothing the club could do about it if he didn't want to do it, which he said himself he doesn't want to change, only wants to play 6 basically.

Look as far as I am concerned this kid is nothing. Hasn't played first grade hasn't done anything. He wasn't willing to get in and earn his spot he just thought he deserved it. Contrast him to Mam, who comes across humble and willing to learn. I would prefer we keep young men like Mam and Mozer who at current glance seem willing to earn their place. unlike this bloke who one day may become something but who could just as easily find himself in the dustbin of history where hundreds of next best things ended up.

I want a club of workers like we once had. Our club was full of blokes who wanted to be the best through their actions. In recent years our club has been known for unearned ego, driven by youth who haven't earned the pride of the jersey yet. In saying that I like the current group a lot more than I did a few years ago. But letting a guy like this go is in the long term better for culture.

I would have thought a 3 year contract, and then refusing to release him, was a fair indication the club wanted him.

The only proof of any of the claims from Kevvie not meeting him to lying to him about his position and being in the top 30 is the word of a temper tantrum throwing teenager doing everything he can to get out of his contract.

The doom and gloom accusations against for me are that you are more than happy to accept this because it’s against the club and not question the sincerity of the claims at all.

The majority of it, I did make an error. It wasn't the day of, it was the day before. Simon Scanlan corroborated this when he issued his statement in response to the Mole's article.

The Broncos claimed they were cleared but the salary cap auditor denied those claims a few days later. The Broncos were never publically cleared by the NRL.

It all comes down to whether it was ethically the right thing for the Broncos to sign a 17-year old without accredited representation. Legally they may have been within their rights but in the court of public opinion it doesn't reflect well on the club to pressure a young man like that.

The only point the Broncos disputed was that this all came to a head in November. Scanlan claimed it happened in June when Oloapu secured a new manager and asked for a substantial upgrade to his contract.

That's different than they lied to me about being in the Top 30 and they were going to ruin my career by making me into something I'm not.

I gave them my word and they gave me a chicken sandwich.
