Did anyone see Kevin Locke's match winning try on Sunday? Flew in to dive on a ball in goal and wrapped his hip around the goalpost. Looked sickening!

Amazingly he's been cleared of a broken hip and all he has is some bruising and a medial ligament strain!

Warriors hat-trick hero Kevin Locke has been cleared of a serious hip injury, but suffered a medial ligament knee strain in the dramatic 20-18 win over the Sydney Roosters in Sunday's clash at AMI Stadium in Christchurch.

Locke collided with the goalpost in a sickening blow while scoring his third try on fulltime to snatch victory.

The 21-year-old winger was taken to Christchurch Hospital soon after for X-rays.

He stayed behind in Christchurch with team doctor John Mayhew before flying back to Auckland on Monday.

Mayhew said while Locke was still in some pain, X-rays had confirmed there was no serious injury to his hip, although he could be missing when his side faces the Eels at Mt Smart Stadium on Sunday.

"He has heavy bruising on the left side of his hip but there is no fracture or evidence of anything other than that," he said.

Mayhew said Locke also had a medial ligament strain in his left knee as a result of the collision with the goalpost.

Champion effort.

Yeah, I watched it live yesterday. It was absolutely awesome.

Now...of the Broncos' wingers, which ones do you think would show similar courage?

Can't see Winterstein showing that kind of commitment.

None of them would come close to the speed he had either. I couldn't believe how fast he was.

Amazing play, he showed a lot of guts going for gold like that. Champion-ness.

Yeah, well Kemp would be the quickest of ours but he wouldn't have managed that. I could see him showing that courage though. Yow Yeh too.

I said locke was a genuine winger when i saw him make his debut, and nothing has changed my mind since. Hes not just a fast player, put on the wing, he is a genuine speedster that has the awareness and presence of mind to be in the right spot at the right time, vital attributes in a winger. That try yesterday was pure class, from the chase he put on originally, to the 2nd kick, to the amazing race to the ball.

Lets not forget he scored 2 other tries as well, one being very controversial, but still, another great wingers try

Agree on that. When he debuted, I think everyone saw that he had a massive future. It was no fluke, he's just that good.

No No No No, Kevin Locke is the future Warrior & NZ fullback, thats where he played his Junior Football & where he will end up in a couple of years.

I really think he could be the next Billy Slater, has speed, Courage & the skill.

I personally thought it was rubbish and crap, because I tipped the Roosters.

So did I, but I cheered him almost as loud as if he was a Bronco!
