THE EX Kevin Walters

Interesting spat this week with Kevvie v Ikin highlighted by galaxy brain Gordie.

Having clearly defined roles.. or not having them.. would be a large issue, no success on the field till the back office is sorted.

Also instead of spending a million on an eshay pillow forward... look to leverage moving Haas on with recruiting a quality spine player.. simple!

its not an excuse we were a shit heap after Seibold, he tore everything down .. hence a rebuild of the Club. new Ceo , Coach , foodball department!

And he hasn't been coach for two years now, but still the issues remain. There's only so long you can blame Seibold before you have to start blaming the person currently running the side.

It's sad that Kev has to rely on his mates to fight his battles. If push comes to shove, Kev will be gone, way before Ikin.

If Ikin was brought in without Kevvies input but sit's below him and answers to kevvie, thats just a bad idea in the first place, I'm assuming it was DD or the board that did that and whoever did that doesn't know what they are doing, this is not how you run a club.

Ikin should be doing the Phil Gould role of GM, if not he shouldn't of been brought in atleast not without input of the coach.

Well, reckon it’s end of year awards tonight. A perfect opportunity for DD to set things right in the presence of everyone(football department) that Ikin is the GM of football who sits between him and the coaching department and from today, everything football related must get his consent.
Let’s hope it happens & all this nuisance fuss is out of the window.
Geez! What a shit circus it has been from R-20. It has to stop.

Except that's not where he sits... Ikin is not Gould... it would be reckless to give a rookie head of football unrestricted control over the football department.

It's DD's job to define the roles and responsibilities between Ikin and Kevvie, and ensure they can work together for the same goal.

If that's not happening then he needs to fix it.

Evidently it’s not happening as our highness had to bitch about it in the media & big mouthed buffoon in Tallis has to drag it further. Why can’t Kev keep it all in-house and sort this mess amicably?
Agree that Ikin is rookie head of football but he’s the one with brains & hence brought to the club. Is he not?
Also agree that DD must be the one to clear things.

Jesus christ....it aint supposed to be this fucken hard!!

If we can't even get the bare basics of running a business/footy club right, how the **** do we ever expect to win a premiership??

I've seen primary schools running the tuck shop with more authority than these useless *****!

Who's fault is that? The comp having a salary cap isn't stopping us from being the best club. Not having the right people is.

Being the richest club, or one of, gives us no advantage here. It does in our pathways but you can hardly fault that, we keep churning through some above average players, it's just about making sure we develop them and keep them at the club.

That doesn't help us now though.

Man U are the biggest football club in the world and look at their form.
we're in a rebuild so you're going to have to deal with the shit that comes with it.

Glad someone brought it up, these clubs like Man U, Barcelona, once great clubs who boasted some of the greatest teams and players of all time, well they tend to attract fans who don't handle supporting a team that isn't winning. They act like it's their god given right to support a team that wins all the time, that's not exactly reality but that's what they expect, through their own level of entitlement. That's how they come to be fans of these teams to begin with.

I can tell you exclusively, we were one of those clubs that attracted those sort of fans and half of what we read on here, is a result of that level of entitlement.

They don't like the idea of a rebuild but sadly, we're not in a league where you can go out and buy your way out of it, like Barcelona and Manchester United have attempted to do. All the club can do is exactly what they have done, change the people who are in positions that are making the wrong decisions and in time, things will improve (as they have done this year, undoubtedly). Anyone who sits there and carries on about this year being a failure, they're one of those fans. Their expectations of the club aren't in line with reality of how clubs turn it around, occasionally a team will go from near last to being an instant top 4 side but this a rare occurrence, it's never an expectation that it will happen, unless you're deluded.

Would have loved to make the 8, we all would have loved that but we didn't. It doesn't mean the season was a failure, it will be a failure if next season our results aren't an improvement on this seasons. 2023 is the acid test for Kevin Walters.

so 2 years and done is your idea of getting results? Seibold went backwards Kevvie hasn't yet , it's pretty simple really.
rome didn't get built in a day ....

... And apparently all roads lead there... but are we sure our guys brought a map?

yeah because the coach will take the fall before anyone in a club usually, hense why Kevvie wanting a big say on who comes or goes .

We are like the Man united of the NRL but we aren't run as bad as they are, they don't have a salary cap so they can spend their way out of trouble and still can't do it.(FFP is nonsense and easily can be worked around, just look at PSG).

The NRL has put a salary cap on players and staff so not only is it much harder to rebuild your team, because others can steal your talent easily when you do it, but the top teams have it easy keeping their key staff because no one can blow them out of the water with a fat contract.

I Wonder who were the people who lobbied for the staff salary cap, because it doesn't serve the game it's already been arguble if the Salary cap on players is even working.
