I once met the Pearl at Bunnings. Luckily I was wearing Broncos shorts so he took the teller's texta and signed them for me. My missus thought I was cracked when I got home.

Geez when he tucked the head down and began to motor it was just a joy to watch and being able to fend with both hands made him almost unstopable.

The work he's doing with Deadly Choices showcases why he's such a great ambassador for his people.

Probably my favourite of all time as well. As a young fella growing up with diabetes it was inspiring for a sportsman to be performing at the highest level while suffering from it as well, and the fact that it was for my favourite team was even better.

My claim to fame is my old man grew up in Murgon with Steve...well, he was a couple of years older, one of Steve's brothers was in his class though.

Class act on the field, and from all reports a genuine bloke off it as well. Still love the Pearl!!

Spent 2 years in Murgon myself. One of the reasons Steve was my favourite ever. Until Locky came along. Locky was my favourite from his debut season.
