Lockyer/Hunt/Hodges + 2009!

I didn't even notice Thaiday run the ball to be honest. Stats back that up.

Yep, Thaiday needs a big kick up the arse.

I'm a massive fan of his, but he's been poor for the last few weeks.

It's been said before, but he should be running wide. He's wasted as a 'workhorse', although i wouldn't count making 1m as workhorse-like.

oh i watched them, and i saw thaiday run at the markers and drop to his knees, much like hes doing this year. granted, last year he was better, but thats only coz hes so goddamn awful this year. mark my words, another year, and this forum will be thinking the same,

Whatever. Last year he was awarded the Broncos' Player of the Year for a good reason. He's just a bit out of form at the moment.

just like michaels was at the start of the year? now look at him lol

Well yes, Michaels just can't find his form and doesn't look like he will any time soon. His fantastic form at the start of last season shows that he just isn't playing to his potential right now.

Actually, I think Michaels is playing exactly to his standard right now. Last year he was him playing above himself, as opposed to it be his regular form. He's cod ordinary.

he is only doing what his coach wants him to do, its not his natural game and in that lies the trouble

well why the **** is he getting told to do this! lol. we, as fans can see its ineffectiveness, surely a professional coaching team can see it too

All of you need to pull your head in. Origin times, it's always a write off.

That plus the fact that our core players are more focused on making history with Origin then they are about winning a nothing round against the Bulldogs/Broncos second grade

+1, this Broncos team was tearing the comp apart before the Test and Origin came along.

Does anyone remember the Warriors game earlier this year? That was the best I'd seen us play for years (even more exciting than the 2006) I actually hadn't seen us play like that since the Alfy days....

Seems like a distant memory at the moment. :|

(From another of my posts) ... IMO, our playmaking from our own half to their red zone is shallow/flat and BORING.

We simply rely far too much on individual brilliance - like Hodges, to create space, or use our standard 2nd man play with K close to their line which is where we score most of our points.

Any code of football is about space: creating it and using it. We are failing in this critical area as we are in defensive intensity, communication and support.

Just watch as one example,Kimmorely and Roberts and how they give their runners room to move.

If the key playmaking roles fall to the 1,6,7 and 9, only our 1 is doing a decent job.

Width is one thing, depth is another.

And IMO, it's about time we (a) got our 6, 7 & 9 to get some decent depth to add to our attacking width, and (b) get PJ - or anyone, set NOW as a permanent 9 for the rest of the season.

I agree R. In particular I find the mind numbingly predictable work by the forwards a worry.
There is nothing there.
without sounding like a broken record ( for our kiddies a flat, black disc that stored music - easily scratched and warped ) we need to look at Melbourne. They get the most out of players because they have interesting and specific roles with and without the ball.

Personally I think we should appoint a proven innovator like Tim Sheens to reinvent the club.
We don't appear to have the necessary innovation or communal understanding to get the best out of our 'talented' players.

Effort is not enough.

FFS I love this, a few losses and suddenly everything the club is doing is wrong. Take a look at the table, take a look at our results (including a win against melbourne I think?) before the fkn rep games screwed us up the pooper, and stop being so dramatic everyone. We have a great team who are only going to get better once the idiotic rep season is done with.
