NEWS Lodge injury

You have a point, TPJ and Lodge are similar in regards to those things I mentioned but I just feel TPJ can do a better job at prop if he gets his mind right.

Still, I feel for Lodge as he does give it his best for us and I like that. Very unlucky.

It’s time for joffa to cut the bs and step up. Played origin and is being paid very very well. This has to be his moment to shine and if he doesn’t then he should be shopped around once his contract is up.

We will manage. Have plenty of depth capable of covering. Carrigan to Lock and TJP/Offa to rotate at Prop.

Paix now doesnt have a spot on the bench, we will need a utility in there for the backs.

Heck of a blow. We will be weaker without him. Very bad news.

Here is one for you ... that sporting news website is predicting that Patty Carrigan will replace Lodge as starting prop

@Wolfie you're his biggest fan .... worth a shot?

they are also predicting Boyd on the wing which seems unlikely

Apparently his only hope is if he suffered a rare partial tear which could be a 2-3 month recovery period.

Is that similar to the situation that happened to Christian Welch last year?

I seem to vaguely remember the same thing happened to him was initially ruled out for the year with ACL tear then the scans ended up coming back negative and he ended up playing again that season.

Partial tear confirmed, Lodge plans to avoid surgery after seeing the specialist.

Potentially back in 2-3 months. (Round 5-14)

Edit: Quotes from Lodge

“I have had experience with this type of injury in the past with a positive outcome,” he said.

“I am lucky.

“I will get straight into my rehab immediately and will do everything I can to get back on the field as soon as possible.

“Nothing is certain with knee injuries, but I am confident I can get back on the field in 2020.”

ffs. at least we get to see Carrigan with big minutes but that’s a huge blow, we‘re short on tough, consistent players like lodge already.

Mate this is great news considering it originally looked to be season ending.

Silver lining is will give some of our guys a chance to lift in his absence and he will be a nice welcome addition around the Origin period

The concern I would have now is that we are very skinny in the second row.

It's literally just Fifi and Glenn, given TPJ was the cover.

Ofa will play more than 30 minutes a game. He is a SOO forward ffs
He isn't a lock's arsehole though, he was completely ineffective there. He can work on his game from the bench until he shows why we re-signed him in the first place.

Carrigan is much more suited to lock, he shares similar traits with Cam Murray. Would be a total waste at prop imo.
