Anybody over Maranta

I would honestly much prefer anybody else get a serious shot at first grade in a position that is more of a mid tier when it comes to the pressure of expectation instead of continuing to waste our time on Maranta. Maranta has played 42 first grade games now and he is as shit today as he was when he debuted. Being just a safe pair of hands on the high ball is not enough justification for being selected in the side, I'm sorry.

We need some more zippy players in the team to compliment Milford anyway.

Marmin is long gone, IBM.

Even if he wasn't, I don't think he's good enough for first grade. The Walker brothers did a really good job of getting the most out of him at ISC level, but even then they weren't throwing him onto the wing for 80 minutes.

In my view, Maranta is nothing more than a depth player and I don't think there's been any disguising that. Even in 2013, the only reason he received as much game time as he did was due to injury to Dale Copley.

He was already looking at a career in Rugby 7s before Hook was given his marching orders.

Last I heard, he's still with the Jets but wasn't invited to train with the Broncos - so really the topic is bit of a dead issue unfortunately.

Instead Maranta's competition is between the likes of Copley, Kahu, Alick, Anderson & Whitchurch.

That's if he isn't selected at fullback which is a definite possibility.

If Maranta was quicker (or lived up to his supposed track speed) and backed himself more...he might actually be a fine winger.

He walked out with his brother? It wouldn't surprise me.

'Cause you clearly know him so well and in a position to comment on what he would and wouldn't do.

He was released.
He's playing ISC for the Jets
He had off-season surgery and will miss the start of the year anyway.

Maranta isn't that bad, he just needs to get a few things straight. Also if he walked on his hands he'd be much happier.

How good is Marmin Barba exactly? I honestly have never seen him play and was wondering if he is a talent or is he just hyped up because he is Ben's brother.

But you're clearly incredibly switched on.

Nice overreaction, you will fit in quite well on the internet

Don't know why no one on here understands the concept of depth players. Every single player cant be a super star. You need reliable cheap experienced players able to fill in and do a job without letting in 5 tries a game. It doesn't do anyone good to put in a promising rookie if they aren't nrl standard.

Let's just discuss the topic at hand.

Clearly IBM wasn't looking to attack Marmin, the topic is about whether or not the Broncos should be looking to incorporate faster wingers instead of sticking with safe choices - even if it means playing somebody out of position.

Maranta is a fine player. Yes he is a bit raw, inexperienced and unrefined in a lot of areas but it's nothing that cannot be improved with good coaching and experience.
