Just an FYI that was a stakeholder email to for shareholders in the company. Not a members email.
I got it too, I'm not a shareholder

"The punishment for driving while a drug is present in your blood or saliva is a maximum of 3 months imprisonment and/or a 14 penalty unit fine."
"If you're found to be driving without a licence, you may receive an infringement notice or need to appear in court. If you're convicted of unlicensed driving, the court may impose a fine or up to 1 year imprisonment."
So - the no fault stand down literally cannot apply (5 year minimum on the potential sentence).
As first offense (that we know of) very unlikely to receive a prison term for these - particularly with a good lawyer.
He had a license at least lol.Are these charges much different to JAC when he failed the roadside drug test and hit with a $600 fine?
It was sent to stakeholders first. I just got the members email again.I got it too, I'm not a shareholder
How do you figure? He’ll probably be gone for the year? Or close enough to it. If the nrl for whatever reason doesn’t give us cap relief we need to sack him (and hopefully renegotiate for 2026) and sign Hunt or our last season with Arey is a write off
Playing for the Broncos should count as community service. He had a license at least lol.
Realistically - this, legally speaking is likely to result in not much more than a financial penalty, maybe some community service and a judge telling him he's been a naughty, naughty boy.
Biggest problem for Ezra is more likely his NRL Contract and any potential ban as a result of this going to court. The real issue is the NRL won't likely do anything until the courts have decided something which could be the bigger challenge for him if it gets delayed until Feb/March.
"SLAMMED"Playing for the Broncos should count as community service.
Ezra has been charged with drug driving:
Police will allege Mam, 21, was driving a Ford Ranger utility north-east along Simpsons Rd on October 18 when it struck an Uber, travelling in the opposite direction, near the intersection of The Drive. Mam was subject to a roadside drug test where he allegedly returned a positive result. He was detained for further testing requiring bloods to be taken at hospital which was conducted independently of the QPS. It will be alleged the secondary test returned a positive result on Tuesday, November 12.On November 13, Mam was charged with one count each of drive while relevant drug is present in blood and drive motor vehicle without a driver’s licence. He has been issued a notice to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court on December 16, and also been issued with a traffic infringement notice for fail to maintain control of vehicle.
The media unfortunately have a disproportionate influence on the admins of our game and they’re calling for a 12 month+ suspension. If the nrl meet them half way and give mam 12-14 weeks then that may as well be our season (especially if Arey misses any time) given he’ll probably take a while to get into the groove. I also get the feeling that the nrl believe that they under punished Trindall and JAC and will make up for it with the Mam suspension. How do you figure?
Much more likely, he goes to court on the 16th, his lawyer makes a deal and this matter is legally resolved prior to christmas all things going Ezra's way.
Then the NRL likely won't make a call till Jan or Feb as they have time before the year starts.
The liklihood of him being rubbed out for more than 3 months for this doesn't track with other bans the NRL has handed out in the past.
fixedPlaying for the non NRLW Broncos team should count as community service.
Players have rights too and while the NRL may feel pressure to do this, as seen in the case with a certain Red V player, the NRL can and will be taken to court if they are too harsh in their dealing with things. The media unfortunately have a disproportionate influence on the admins of our game and they’re calling for a 12 month+ suspension. This is based off nothing but a gut feeling, but the nrl aren’t predictable or consistent so it’s the only thing to go off.
I'm sure Petey B is looking into it... just need to waitI need more clarification on the licence situation. Did he ever have a licence? Did he not get licence renewed or was he on a a ban of licence for accruing too many points?
