THE BOSS Maguire Stomped The Naysayers! But...8 Months Later, Here We Are.

And looked like hot garbage. Didn't we get knocked out 1st round finals by 40 or something? To St George?
That did happen. Yes

But someone was trying to excuse Madge just this arvo because we’re 7th being 5&5…

We had the third best winning percentage over the 4 years Wayne came back… and we shit canned him for pies… good decision makers we are

Bennett hasn't exactly set the world on fire wherever he's gone since. He hasn't won a comp in how long now? Moving on from Bennett was the right call. The problem is, the club couldn't have handled it worse if they tried. They completely screwed it up in every way possible.

@Nashy is from NSW?

He made the finals every year at the Rabbitohs, including the Grand Final. The Dolphins did pretty well all things considered. They've beat the Titans 4 out 6 times, the Cowboys twice and us once. He gets respect from players. I wouldn't trash Bennett.

Does anyone think there’s a chance Madge has been persevering with Patty at prop because he was planning on using one of Hunt, Walters, or Paix as a Connor Watson type lock/hooker once Mam returned?

I think Hunt would do great in the role.

I dunno, I’m just trying to find reasons to hold onto hope.

1. Walsh
6. Mam
7. Reynolds
9. Walters/Mozer
10. Carrigan
13. Hunt (off the bench)

Nope. We saw his plans in the trials.

Just so we are clear, I’m not trashing Bennett. He would have done far better than Siebold (terrible club decision) and would have been better than Maguire but at some point, you need to move on.

None of this changes the fact that he hasn’t won a comp in 15 years.

I just think back when Ciraldo and the Bulldogs were going through the same thing about Ciraldo's coaching methods being too much and there was push back from the playing group.

He didn't back down from the pressure, especially the media pressure. Now they're on top of the table with a roster that on paper really shouldn't be anywhere near there.

Short term pain for long term gain. If there's players that leave as a result, so be it. Buy in or **** off.

Exactly this. Same with Sticky, Robbo, and Craig Bellamy. There is no way that these coaches don't turn players off at times with the way that they push them.

The few differences are that they (Robbo and Bellamy, at least) find a way to have their players buy in or turn it around quickly, and also that their teams just can't sell stories/hit pieces like we do.

Do not back down, pls. These people are athletes FFS, and pushing for greatness is literally 'how to be a successful athlete 101'. Brooooo I was nearly spewing at AIS swimming squads when I was a teenager, and I can think of a few that did (including one swimmer's chundered lasagna that I swam through in a previously shared story) because they pushed themselves beyond that point per the order from the coaches, and they are the ones that have made olympic finals, and medalled. I did not.

Just realised through that comparison that I am a flop. Lol, f**k

Yeh…..loser! 😂😂😂

Looks like Marty Taupau is one of the players complaining about Madge's training methods ... Time to retire then Marty.

Marty reportedly like an Instagram post from Elijah Taylor (I believe former Tigers player) basically saying Madge is too intense and trains players too hard

Well that explains why he hasn't been sighted since he got selected and played pretty well

I guess his career is done, so doesn’t have anything to lose by saying it.

Madge deserves half a chance but I just can' t give it to him. Broncos should have just let Bennett do his succession plan. JD would have stunk it up for two years, but at least we would have ended up having Bennett again in the long run.
What? Then you couldn't choke on Kevies nuts for the last 18 months.😁
