Are we stacked? Let's not focus on rep level, focus on top 3 / 5 / 10 level in their position:
1. Walsh (Probably top 5 at his best, currently top 10)
2. Cobbo (Probably top 5 winger)
3. Staggs (Probably top 10)
4. Shibasaki (nope)
5. Arthars (Maybe top 10, maybe)
6. Mam (Top 3 at his best but hasn't played in forever)
7. Reynolds (Top 5)
8. Carrigan (Top 5 probably at prop, definite top 3 at lock)
9. Hunt (Probably top 3 at his best)
10. Haas (Best in his position)
11. Piakura (Nope)
12. Riki (Nope)
13. Hetherington (HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Nope)
14. Walters / Paix / Mozer (Nope)
15. Jensen (Nope)
16. Willison (Nope but potential to get there)
17. Insert Name Here (Nope)
So when players are their BEST, we have these guys likely in top 3:
1. Walsh
2. Cobbo
6. Mam
7. Reynolds
9. Hunt
10. Haas
13. Carrigan
At present though, worrying, only one bloke is playing like a top 3 player - Haas.
If we're talking about players playing at their best then Walsh isn't Top 5, because he lacks in defence and is still 50/50 under high balls.
My fullback rankings assume all in peak form:
1. Tom Trbojevic
2. Latrell Mitchell
3. James Tedesco
4. Kalyn Ponga (in peak form he's probably competing for Top 3, but hard to gauge because it's been awhile)
5. Ryan Papenhuyzen
6. Dylan Edwards
Walsh is in the next group after that with someone like Hammer... Hammer doesn't have the ball playing, but he's better under the highball and a better defender and probably a better runner of the ball (if he's given an inch of space he's a high likelihood of scoring a try from anywhere on the field by himself)
Cobbo is definitely not a Top 5 winger, but probably in the top 10... Arthars definitely not a top 10 winger
1. Brian Too
2. Zac Lomax
3. Xavier Coates
Ronaldo Mulitalo Top 5 Winger
Jacob Kiraz Top 5 Winger
Sunia Turuva Top 10 Winger
Jason Saab Top 10 Winger
William Warbrick Top 10 Winger
Selwyn Cobbo Top 10 Winger
Murray Taulagi Top 10 Winger
Other notables above Arthars: Daniel Tupou, Lehi Hopoate, Mark Nawaqanitawase, Paul Alamoti, Jamayne Isaako (hit and miss, but his peak form is better than Jesse's), Sione Katoa
Competing with Arthars pending what you prefer out of your wingers: Josh Addo-Carr, Dallin Watene-Zelezniak, Dominic Young (overpaid, but can make meters, finish and has x factor when in form), Marcelo Montoya
Mam isn't a Top 3 five eight, but in the conversation for Top 5... only because it is a pretty terrible position across the league:
1. Munster
2. Luai
3. Dearden
Others in contention for Top 5:
Jayden Campbell (better 6/1 than 7), Dylan Brown (overpaid, but still a good player), Ezra Mam, Cody Walker (when in peak form he's in the Top 5)
Hunt as a top 3 hooker needs to be based on how he performs week in week out in NRL... guys he would be competing with are:
1. Harry
The rest: Api, Robson, Bhunt, JMK, Egan, etc.
Can't really argue with the rest... Haas is best in his group, Patty is Top 3 with Yeo and Murray... Reynolds is within the Top 5, but competing with Hughes and Moses for Top 3 with Cleary number 1.
